I'm very excited... Just bought an 03 Lexus LX470 to replace my 03 Highlander as my DD. It's not an 80 series but at least it's in the LC Community. LOL. I pick it up on Friday. Its all gray with 71k on it.

Must resist. Think about gas prices in a few months! Yikes!

At about 16-17mpg, the things already a pig. At least it's 3mpg better than my 4Runner gets.

So True Mike.
I don't daily drive mine anymore so I don't care about the cruiser mileage much anymore.
Though my road trip this summer will hit me in the pocket pretty hard as far as fuel is concerned.

Gas mileage is the last thing I tend to worry about when buying a vehicle.. I should be more concerned with that, but everything I like sucks when it comes to mileage. :)

It may not be an 80 but it's still pretty capable. I wouldn't hesitate taking it off road. Congrats on a great purchase.

Now you can put on that ARB front bumper, lift, 33's hmm :hhmm:

That looks really clean, something new to play with. ;)

@ Wrench - Thank You

@ High Country Cruiser - Saw this one in the Toyota Tech section and love it... Gonna try to keep this one clean for a while. Although, I'm pretty impulsive!! ;)

it's basically the same as the 4Runner you already have. Maybe better looking in some eyes but still the same drive train.

Yeah. Very similar. Although, my 4Runner has the V6, so I'm liking the V8 and transfer case shifter. No more stinkin soccer mom dial!!! The rear axle of the 100 is a bit more stought too.

I will say my 4Runner is a bit narrow which is a plus offroading, but there's no doubt, that a built 100 looks better than the 4Runner.

for some reason I thought it was a V8. The 4Runner is built off the Prado platform and for all practical purposes is a Land cruiser.

My wife's V8 limited will out drive my 80 all day long in the snow, off road, fugget about it.

Yeah... When my 4Runner was stock it was great in the snow and marginal off-road. The VSC system is a pain in the butt. Now that it's locked front to back, regeared and twin-sticked, it performs like it should have been built to.

At least the 5th Gen Runner got the manual t-case shifter back and has a rear locker on the Trail Edition..

Steve,

Wow! I've been asleep at the switch! Congrats on your purchase!!! And, best of luck resisting mod. temptations on your DD. (ya... right!!!)

Lol.. Thank you. Rich, Matt and myself were talking at our last brew night that you've been MIA lately. We're almost due for another home brew night at Rich's though.

After driving it for a week, I think I'm good keeping it stock except for some new wheels :D. As long as I have the 4Runner, I'm very content................ FOR NOW.

What is the tow rating for the 100 series? I am going to need a tow rig soon.

They do not make very good tow rigs. They have rear coil springs which is horrible for towing. I looked into one to tow my 80 but the more I researched it the more I changed my mined. Christo Slee towed his 80 with one and said it was horrible. Buy a pick up.

Not sure what the tow rating is. Sorry.
