I came across a guy on FB Marketplace selling some of these skid plate sets and tracked them back to Chongqing Junxi Auto Parts Co.

Looks like the company makes all kinds of skidplates. The initial quote on Alibaba was USD 401.39 shipped to NC.

Does anyone have any experience with these for the 100 Series?

From Alibaba:
  • Customizable Thickness: The product offers a customizable thickness of 2.5mm, allowing users to choose the level of protection they need for their vehicle.
Sounds like they make these to order? Any you can specify anything from tinfoil to armor?

🤷‍♂️ I’d be wary. Also the manufacturer’s name is “junk, see?”

Just screenshot/translation. No vids.

Looks nice. If I didn’t already replace both of my skid plates with factory parts, I would be inclined to give it a shot.

Was going to hate on this at first but I say go for it and report back here on how it all works out... It's I just a splash guard and not ever taking on any weight or real abuse. I'm not a fan of the cheapy bumpers and other stuff that you see more but s*** if it fits go for it

I think it looks okay for light/medium duty wheelers. And at 83lbs (steel), the weight down that low won't be too noticeable. Protects the the most vulnerable part, the oil pan and also covers the catalytic converters. People might just buy them for CC protection. I would choose steel over aluminum. Maybe even ask for thicker steel.

I think they look very good. LOTS of airflow. I bet all those pressings make it very strong for the weight/thickness. I really like the oil filter access, wish my Dissent skids had that.

The guy on Marketplace claims the steel set weighs 105 lbs. Maybe the aluminum is 83, which sounds about right...

83 lbs was just a translation in post #3... but you know how that goes.

If you look carefully at the picture of the front skid vs the oem, it is worth noting that the one being sold looks like it is constructed of three separate pieces joined by small bolts vs the one piece oem. Also, if you look into some of the larger oval ports it looks like there is material behind it. Could this be how they offer additional thickness?

The Junxi is two stamped layers, bolted together. I'm assuming it is 2.5mm per layer. The OE is one layer but has several reinforcement ribs that are spot welded on.

Also, I imagine these are designed for stock vehicle, no diff drop bracket. I'm sure it can be adapted for a diff drop bracket but might require spacers or just elongated holes or some persuasion to install.

Looks like a design that could retain a good bit of debris that would stay wet. Maybe not a big problem with the aluminum version, although the fasteners would need to be corrosion resistant.
