Junked my stock Steering...

I snapped a tie rod on my 78 FJ40 this weekend heading up Moab Rim and am looking to beef up when I fix er. The rig is SOA with 37's, Saginaw PS, 98 inch wheelbase, stock axles with the smaller knuckle pattern, and 1.5 inch wheelspacers. I like the looks of the 4x4 labs high steer arms and the Chevy 1 ton ends they use. Anybody running this set-up or have advice about the 4x4 labs goods? Do they make arms that will work with an SOA? Any suggestions or other quality options for beefing my 40's steering is appreciated

Ran it for the first time this past weekend.

Luke and I talked on the phone, he asked me what lift I had, what springs, and some other details...sent a pair of arms out. I was SURE they wouldn't be right....but they couldn't fit better. I have less than 1/4" clearance at the packs, which is what I wanted. The only issue we had was with my Scout PS, but he's sending me a different drag link with the 1-ton thread on one end and 3/4" thread on the other for a heim.

VERY pleased with the setup, hope to be installing a 8" stroke hydro assist ram this coming week.

COOL...good enough for Woody is good enough for me Thanks for the info....I ordered the kit tonight and can't wait to get her installed. Is your upcoming Hydro-assist a West Texas purchase? Just wondering as I'm considering that route myself.

yeppers, West Texas....I have their 6" stroke ram on the floor from my old steering setup, but the 4x4 Labs stuff requires an 8" stroke, and will be nicely protected behind the axle.

reminds me, gotta call Matt and see if they have the 8" x 1.5" rams in stock yet....

Woody, with so little clearance, it doesn't bother ya about when the springs arch during droop?

I've got about the same clearance as that with my RBS setup, and it hits pretty good when my right side droops.. (Hot the TRE from the drag link)

it rubs, but hasn't bothered anything. If it was further from the springs, I'd have more chances to hit the frame on compression.

My AllPro's hit everywhere....VERY tight.
