How did the slide look compared to when you were up there?

Awesome pics and trip report! I would have tinkled in my pants on that one, the punch bowl scares me when its in good shape, I may have let Jonathan's dog drive that section! Nice post everyone.

Looks like that first step is about the same from your photos. Hard to tell with out being there in person. It seems someone has at least moved all the bigger rocks to the side and leveled the trail out a bit. The rocks I circled were on the left side of the frame when we crossed. Every time I walked a tire up on to them it felt like we were going to tip right into the canyon. On level ground it wouldn't have been anything memorable but on that shelf road it had me sweating bullets lol.

Shot of Johns 40 in Crystal River valley which I liked because of the scale; tiny truck in a huge valley.

Sorry to have missed you all in CB. We were up (sans 55, it stayed home with its newly-arrived sibling) doing some work on the house in town and retrieving a truck from the ranch. Survived the Sunday afternoon deluge while seated on the bench in front of the Museum watching rain and hail run down Elk Avenue and remembering helping my Dad work on our old Jeep wagon in the back when it was the Conoco.

Surely some others who were on this run have photos they can post. Let's see some more.

Thanks for posting on your site! I'm glad we could contribute. See you this weekend?

Oops, and I have to give credit where credit is due. The pics of my 100 series going over the slide were taken by Matt Burmaster I believe (I was so focused on getting over the slide I don't quite remember who I gave my camera to). He was using my equipment though. Thanks for the great shots!

I was taking the pictures, Matt was spotting you. Nice camera you have but my shots are no where near your level Jonathan, that picture of Johns 40 is amazing.

This run was a ton of fun, we have a good group of Toyota nutz IMO. I ended up camping about a mile or so from where we split up about 2/3 rds the way up the mountain, had spectacular views up and down Slate river.

They call it Paradise Divide for good reason, don't they. Some great hikes off the top side also.
