Soooooo nothing yet? Debating on waiting or just ordering the venza setup while Toyota has 25% off all Toyota parts now. There is still hope , but no eta. I’m debating if I should off shore production of these to make the price palatable.
Alrighty. Guess I'll be going the venza route. Thanks for the update!“No, business is on a pause right now. If this changes, I’ll let you know.”
Out of curiosity, what is the venza option?Alrighty. Guess I'll be going the venza route. Thanks for the update!
There is an OEM Toyota metal oil filter housing, which is found on the Venza and other vehicles. I only found out about this a month ago. But it is very well documented by other mudders. I believe that the jowett system allows you to use an ez drain/fumoto, but the venza system doesn't. Just upgrade to metal.Out of curiosity, what is the venza option?
Correct me if I'm wrong. But with the Venza option there are no ez drain/futomo solution for it correct? I must take off the bottom cap, and either use the little plastic piece, or something like this to to drain the oil in the filter housing, correct?Venza option is great, and also comes stock on a few other Toyota engines built for harsh use cases like the ISF and some of their 70-series diesel options.

yeah that's what I figured too. The filter housing needs to come out anyways, Regardless of methods there will be a bit of mess one way or the other. I'll probably do fumoto on the oil pan drain plug. But keep the filter housing stock and use the plastic tool that comes with each filter.Personally I don't like those drain hoses. They really slow down the process and it is more stuff to clean at the end of the job. If you put the old drain cap o-ring onto the groove on the plastic tool then snap it in to the venza cap firmly, the oil drains quickly without a mess. Screwdriver into the big hole on the disposable tool to snap it out when it's done draining, at the end of the job that goes into the plastic bag with the old filter.
great point.only available attached to an unobtanium part at this point
How did it fail? On the oil pan drain plug? Did it hemorrhage oil?My Fumoto drain valve failed on me. I went with the ValvoMax train valve. Works great.

I have one of these I used until I got my Jowett filter housing. I thought it was a good way to minimize the mess. I still use the funnel for filling with oil.Correct me if I'm wrong. This sucks bad! I've got a Fumoto on all my rigs that can take one. I haven't had any issues with one valve approaching 12 years of uneventful use.During oil change the ball bearing went into the waste oil when I opened the drain valve. The lever was just flopping around.
Mine must have been a Friday valve. This sucks bad! I've got a Fumoto on all my rigs that can take one. I haven't had any issues with one valve approaching 12 years of uneventful use.
Yea...the ValvoMax is superior in every way. Nothing against the Fumoto, I have it on my riding mower and Jowett filter. It just isn't as good.My Fumoto drain valve failed on me. I went with the ValvoMax train valve. Works great.
Some two years later I finally had to change my oil. Obviously not driving enough. Which is what happens when one lives close enough to ride a bike to their office. Fortunately I have retired so will be driving more.Look what I got in the post today.
And if folks are wondering, I installed a Stahlbus oil drain valve. I like them better than others as they have a cleaner profile.
