I picked up a 2004 about 4 weeks ago and have already begun modding it. I can't wait to take it wheeling and see what it can do.

Just as I purchased it:

Upgraded speakers in all four doors and sending sub to get rebuilt hopefully soon.

Also installed this week Doug Thorley Exhaust (sounds amazing) and iPad Ram Mount for off highway GPS and Topography.

You should have left it stock. It is too nice of a truck to wheel. Love the color too.

Looks good. The front looks realllllllly high. Do you have any droop on the front end? If you don't leave ~2" or more of droop you will be constantly over extending your front shocks over bumps and causing them to fail faster.

Droop? What do you mean by that? The kit came with new shocks. I didn't even check to see if they were longer so hopefully they matched it up. It still rides amazing which I'm happy about.

Did you install the diff drop? If not, it's ad used that you do so. Look to Slee or BIOR for one. Your front end does look high though. I have about a 1" rake on mine. That's what he was referring to when you said droop. He means rake. Measure from the center of your center caps to the bottom of your fenders and let us know.

Do you have an "AM/SAT" button on your stereo? It looks like you have the SAT Radio integration that started in '05...

:confused::confused:

I don't have the Sat button, but when I plug in my phone it indicates SAT on the screen. The only way I can switch to SAT mode is by telling it to by Voice or plugging my phone in. Either way it works for me.

Metaltech told me repeatedly that I wouldn't need a diff drop with this kit so I'll check into that again. My technician said the axles looked like they'd be fine and it wasn't too much of a difference but I guess a little offroading will tell that tale. I'll measure and post what I find.

I think he meant droop not rake...

Huh. Which ipod integration are you using? Do you have XM installed as well? Thanks for the info.

Yes, I think he meant droop as well. IFS needs to have droop left in the suspension in order to travel downward to flex. If there is little to no droop available (only uptravel) then the ride tends to be jarring and CV angles will lead to leaks or worse.

Ah I see, well the ride is still amazing, feels just like stock and we took it off road this weekend and it was still riding just fine. I'll keep an eye on the CVs.

Did you go with the performance or the constant load springs? And what do you think about the carrying capacity?

I did the medium duty setup. I don't plan on loading it down too much so the constant load springs would of made for a more rough ride for daily driving which I'm not going for.

ih8mud on the go!

Truck looks great!! Didn't take you long!!

Thanks!! I've got ASFIR skids on the way now too: front skid, transfer case skid, and transmission skid. As well as Nitto Trail Grappler 275/70/18's ordered.
