hwy22, the design has since changed from the beginning of the thread. You can check the cruise moab shots for up to date pictures

I am late to this thread and haven't read all 6 plus pages, however despite Christo wanting to maintain the functionality of the ladder with attachments I think it's not necessary. You can reach the roof easily enough from the back bumper and running boards/sliders.

^ Depends on your height and balance control... at least from the steps / sliders.;)

Going to revive this thread. I'm currently fabbing up a rear Jerry can holder for my blank second swing arm. That's the easy part. I could care less about the ladder... But if I want I'll put some pegs on one side of it to aid.

More importantly. I'm trying to figure out how to mount a bike rack onto this thing as well. Do you guys think a bike rack + 2 water cans is too much weight for one swing out? How about a bike rack and the spare tire (probably just the same weight as two Jerry cans)

I don't want to use a tow hitch bike rack, it will hang too low, stick out too far, rattle like crazy, and be a pain in the arse every time I want to open the tailgate...

Any suggestions?
