Jeep Cherokee (2010 - 2011 MY) jerking/misfire
Jerking sensation in Cherokee 3.7l (fish bite) - South Africa
[This e-mail confirms that there is an issue in the Jeep Cherokee 3.7l (2010 – 2011 MY) when driving at a constant speed of 120 t0 130km/h with the accelerator depressed to a certain level, the vehicle exibits what we term a “fishbite sensation”, this is described as a slight hesitation in the engine, misfire.[/COLOR]
We are currently working with engineering in Detroit to understand what is causing the issue (we are doing data recordings form other vehicles that have the same issue and sending this data to the engineers).
There is no fix at the moment but we are hopeful that a fix will be found (possibly a software update)
This “fishbite sensation” is not in any way harmful and will not cause any damage to the vehicle.
Kind Regards,
