After some hard work reproducing these nice and iconic plates, they are finally finished. Took me a few days cleaning up the scans and convert the artwork into vector. But the result is as I hoped for, or even better..

This is a 100% correct plate cut from the right 0.5mm sheet aluminum, very softly brushed. The print is laser etched in a beautiful solid black.
I did not let the company drill the holes, to make sure the holes with not be misaligned in comparison with the glove box door. better to do it myself.

As you can see I ordered a bit more than I need :), so if anyone is interested, let me know.

Unfortunately because of the low quantity, they are not as cheap as the US versions seen on the web..
They will cost 55 dollar/40 euro each, excluding postage. And I'm not even making any profit in this, just helping out other cruiser lovers.

You won't be disappointed, I'm very picky and even I was surprised with the quality and the 100% perfect resemblance with the original.
Would be a nice upgrade to your JDM cruiser, or just cool to have in your collection of Cruiser gadgets.!!! They are for the 4 speed BJ41 and BJ44 for sure... not sure about the later BJ40 or early bj42

Will show you how i install this beauty on my cruiser next week.

and a detailed shot where you can see the sharpness of the etching and the solidness of the black.

under there 2 shots of my screen when scanning and cleaning up the scans from dust and scratches to a fresh sharp vector file.

Hi All:

Wow! Nicely done Folkert!

You should consider posting in the Diesel section as well.

Regards,

Alan

no sorry, besides, original 5 speeds were just decals, no aluminum plates,

if i have a good example, i can scan them so i can reproduce

see pics for an example of the BJ46 5 speed instruction decal...

Folkert, I just got my plate this past Saturday. Man, what a great job you did. I expected it to be nice, but was really pleasantly surprised by exactly how nice it is. Very clean, very crisp. Any 44/46 owners out there looking to replace this hard to find piece, Folkerts your man!

Id love one since I have a 4 speed and vacuum shift combo, just waiting for my bank account to get a little bigger (in college)

GargeRat, don't wait too long. If you want want one, beg borrow or steal the cash. Your not likely to find these again once their gone. Folkert's done a beautiful job and is selling them at a great price.

haha although I'm not into supporting criminal behavior, but must admit I have just a few left and they wont be reproduced ever... this is your last chance!!!, the community of BJ41/44 owners is too small to do another batch...

as long as you dont hurt any animals or defensless children its fine by me... ;)

Pm sent, you guys are a bad influence haha.

FJ shift instruction plate

I am restoring a 65 three speed. Id like to keep the three on the tree for originality sake. any idea where to find a new shift instruction plate for this? The original is in fairly good shape but will look out of place after all else has been upgraded.

Do you have any interest in providing the files for this project since you're not doing any more?
