Hi folks,
Tacking a project today and need some much needed last minute information before the mechanic shows up to help me. 2 questions:

1 Curious if people know the torque sequence for a the rocker assembly (valve train) on a 2F. Can’t find it in the FSM

I’m posting in the 40 series section cause no one will answer me in the 60 series one… lol

2 Do we know if bolt lengths are different for 40/60 assemblies? Shown below is the assembly that came with my 60, but my valves keep falling out of adjustment. Which is weird. I’m swapping because I had a crack in one of the rocker support towers, but am concerned that :

a.) The new assembly (off an 83 60 series) won’t match up because it looks different (see below)

B.) the bolts I have are from an 40 assembly, yet the rocker assemblies I’ve been using are for the 60. Ie the bolts are too short aand that’s why my assembly is falling out of adjustment (pure speculation)

Before I dive in would life to know torque sequence and if I should look into getting different bolts or different assembly that will 100% work.

Photo 1 is old assembly (cracked tower) photo photo 2 is the crack photo 3 is the one ima bout to put on.

Thanks,
Dan

torque sequence will be from the center out like head bolts are, if you are familiar...
thats all i can offer

And pay close attention to the oiler and corresponding orientation of the rocker shaft to make sure the bolt indents are where they are supposed to be. There is only one right way that goes. There should be no need to force the bolts past the rocker shaft.
You mean make sure I’m not putting it on backwards/ upside down?

Appreciate it,

Dan
