The SPC are a better option due to their adjustability.

I have this thing of buying Chinese parts, I try not to. I know they are designed and assembled in the USA. I have seen some negative post about the SPC and not many on the JBA.

I tried jba on my fj cruiser. I had -12 offset wheels and they rubbed bad. They told me I needed to run -25 offset wheels for them to work. So they kindly refunded me

A lot of the components in your truck were sourced in China, it's a bit late to worry about that.

I don't care where it's made, if it's the best component I can get, I buy it.

Most of the issues you see with SPC are installation errors such as not torquing the ball joint nut properly or using a threadlocker on the nut if it comes loose under their specific uses.

I bought the JBA UCAs to run on my rig. Waiting for a nice weekend to install the lift and UCAs as I have to do the install in the driveway, the GX will fit in the garage but won't fit out the door once the lift is installed

The SPCs getting knocked out of alignment (torqued well or not) was a concern. I also didn't want any of the uni-ball setups, overkill for my needs and not worth the maintenance/noise for me. I like the JBAs because they did what I needed and nothing more/less. The easily (aka bolt in not press in) ball joints was a nice added feature, but not a decision maker.

I'll be running them on 17x8.5 wheels with -10mm offset and 285/70 17s. If you give me a few weeks, I can report back on any rubbing issues with the UCAs. According to his website though, the following fitment guide says I'll be fine:

"Please Note: 32.5" and larger diameter tires need aftermarket wheels with less then factory wheel back space. Tire Size Calculator

  • LT285/70R17 (32.7" x 11.2") tire on 17 x 9 wheel, -12mm offset (4.50" backspace)
  • LT285/70R17 (32.7" x 11.2") tire on 17 x 8.5 wheel, -9mm offset (4.30" backspace)
  • LT285/70R17 (32.7" x 11.2") tire on 17 x 8.5 wheel, 0mm offset (4.75" backspace)
  • LT285/75R16 (32.8" x 11") tire on 16 x 9 wheel, -19mm offset (4.25" backspace)
  • LT255/85R16 (33.10" x 10") tire on 16 x 8 wheel, -12mm offset (4" backspace)
  • LT315/70R17 (34.4" x 12.4") tire on 17 x 9 wheel, -25mm offset (4.00" backspace)
  • Any tire that is 32.2" diameter and smaller there is no fitment problem.
Tire sizes that work well with the JBA UCAs

  • 265/75R16 tire 31.6" x 10.4" on factory wheels
  • 255/75R17 tires 32.1" x 10" on factory wheels
  • 275/65R18 tires 32.1" x 10.8" on factory wheels
  • Any tire that is 32.2" diameter and smaller there is no fitment problem."

I’m going with the JBAs, they might not be as adjustable as the others but I’m ok with that. They also give you a Military/ Vet discount!

I think you’ll be happy with them. Build quality looks stellar on them and I like that they’re grease-able.

I don’t care that they’re red. I contemplated getting them powder coated but decided to convince myself not to care. Running teal Dobinson coils will sure be an odd color combo under there, all said and done, oh well.

Post up your alignment specs after your get everything installed

I will, this Covid thing will slow down my progress significantly.

Right, I’m debating if I should hurry and do the lift install and get to an alignment shop before they close down or wait it all out to make sure I don’t end up with a lifted, out of alignment rig for weeks. Thus far I plan on waiting.

So JBA won't work with FJ wheels and 255/80/17 tires? This is the first I have heard of this...

I like them..

I too have the JBAs running a 285/70/17 tire and 10mm offset on my wheels. I've been happy with them so far. I do get some rubbing at full lock but I have yet to do a body mount chop. I plan to swap to my wheel setup on my 4Runner which has 1.25" Spidertrax spacers and -6mm offset wheels with a 4.5" backspacing.

SPCs were my second choice for UCAs.

Good looking setup.

Just air down your tires to get out of the garage ;)

I suggest staying with 17" tires. Generally, wheels and tires will be more affordable and available.
That being said, if you're on some road trip in the middle of nowhere and destroy a tire, there's a better chance of finding that tire size locally.
Just my 2 cents on personal research.
