Hi All! I have a James Baroud Evasion XL roof top tent that I am looking to mount to an ARB Base roof rack (no rails) installed on a 200 series lc (2016). Has anyone found a good mounting solution? I called Slee, Mainline Overland, and ARB, but no luck. And JB does not have a contact number or any solution on their site. Thank you for the help!

I hit post too quick! My apologies for the typo in the title. It's a James Baroud tent. Not Baround.

Would something like these wide bridge plates work to run a bolt up from to the bottom of the tent. I’m looking at this solution for my new RTT that has aluminum T slot rails on the bottom that run the length of the tent, roughly 1/3 of the way in from each side. Haven’t bought a rack yet. Thinking I’ll need to run some rubber stripping along it the rails as well except where the bolts will be in case they contact the rack elsewhere. Hoping this creates a rock solid connection. I currently have it on the factory rack and the cross members are a little flexy, making the plastic housing on the front of the roof rails chirp a bit on sharp bumps.

ALL- thoughts on a welded rigid rack like full length ARB Base rack vs. modular like Front Runner? I noted in video Andrew at 4x overland showing several expedition type welded racks, but also mentioning that since vehicle will flex that a rack needs to flex with it.

Had been thinking the welded ARB means that many less possible noise points… but maybe means it’ll focus noise wherever the weakest point/ flex focuses to?

Frontrunner has a quick release setup, but that’ll sit higher. ARB seems super sturdy, and easy access to attach the rack to the tent first, and the rack can attach to its mounts from the outside of the rack to it’s welded in nuts. Not sure how my noise vs. removability debate will go here.

Thanks for your thoughts/ experience.

First, thank you for the response! Very much appreciate it. I have yet to install my ARB base roof rack, but these plates look promising.
