From J'actionville here and wondering if there are any good spots to go wheeling within say an hours time from the east coast area, any ideas?

For trails, Uwharrie is probably the closest.

Not trails / wheeling but there is 4x4 beach / dune cruising at certain places up and down the coast and all over OBX.

At Wilmington you have Ft Fisher which is a place to go wheelin on the beach, there is a couple others around there but the best place to go is the Outer Banks which was mentioned before.

Looking for some trails, I'll give Uwharrie a shot. Theres plenty of beach here in J'ville, and some trails on the base but I am looking to go out camping for a weekend this spring.

Uwharrie is about 2.5 hours from UNCW by car, probably 3 hours+ by 40 series, if ya are plannin on headin out here (I'm 15 minutes from it, lucky me) once the trails open up, give me a call 704-438-0730.

We should pick a day to meet as a club at Uwharrie for the start of the '06 season. 1st day it is open is Sat, April 1st.

We missed each other late last year.

I am close too, only an hour and will be going often this year.

i'm only 35-40 minutes from there, I will check it out and let you all know.

Didn't get a chance to go this weekend to check it out but found this Heep club's pics.
