Just a thought but would it hurt anything if i switched over to the new Super Long Life Coolant (Pink)? Not sure if the parts guy is a idiot or not but he recommended it? They cost about the same just wondering if there would be any pros or cons to this switch? Reason I ask is i am planing on doing the timing belt water pump stuff eventually and since I will be draining the Coolant anyways was wondering if it would be worth while? Thanks In advance.

Master Window Switch Questions

What is the difference of the 98-02 part for the master window switch and the 03-07 part? Not interchangeable? Just wondering? Just wanna know if i can broaden my search for a master window switch? Thanks In advance?

Default 2000 LX470 Gauge Cluster Swap questions?

Would a 2003+ Gauge cluster swap into a 2000? Just a thought. Thanks in advance

2000 LX470 Driveshaft questions

Ok so i have the well known Clunk... I have been told that the drive shaft was revised or something to cure this issue? Can anyone confirm that if a new drive shaft was bought from Toyota it would be a superseded part correcting the clunk issue?? Thanks in advance ;)

2000 LX470 Engine Trans questions

Hypothetically speaking if in the future something major breaks like the engine or trans or both, I was wondering if the newer style Engine and/OR 5 speed transmission would fit in there? what All would be needed for the transfer? Not even considering this unless something major happens but its always good to know ahead of time ;) Thanks in advance ;)

2000 LX470 Gas Mileage questions

First off when I took ownership of my new LX470 is had these expensive rims and tires on it ... I dont really like them and would prefer stock over these. They are 18 inch rims and tires ... anyways I took a trip to Arizona a few weeks ago and I know this thing gets bad gas millage but I kinda think mine may be worse with these stupid tires.. Ok on highway from full to empty i can pull about 330 Miles from a entire tank without risking running out. Around town my god I will be lucky to get 240-260 Miles out of a full tank .... is this normal? Just wondering? Thanks in advance!

Holy thread starter, batman! I don't KNOW any of this, but I've read a lot on this site. I know these beasts are thirsty. Mine gets 13-14 mpg. There are a bunch of "how do I squeeze more mpg out" threads. The 5 speed tranny is more trouble to swap in than it's worth. Something about wrong computers and such? There are a bunch of threads already on this too. I don't know about the lx, but I know the LC didn't start with all one touch windows. That may be the difference in your switches. I noticed my idle is rough when my ac compressor kicks on. Is your ac on? I've got a thunk clunk myself. I think for most it is a matter of greasing the driveshaft. I haven't read anything about a new awesome driveshaft, but it sounds neat! Enjoy the new ride. Search is your friend.

:whoops: haha thank you for summing up all of my post and assisting with them :) Only reason I made separate threads is because I have had issues in other forms where I would simply make one post and ask a ton of questions and they recommended each topic to have its own post for better searching? I hope that All of my post don't piss off anyone I was just trying to follow protocol of what i learned in other forums ;) thank you tho for your reply. :)

could just need to grease them or replace the U joints.

In other news, you could have asked all your questions in one thread.

Maybe one thread instead off a 100.

What's the difference between 17 mpg and 13/14 mpg? How big is your gas tank - hint: 25.2 gallons. Now, just do the elementary math to answer the question.

Ps - we get it that you are an excited new to you owner.

Welcome :flipoff2:

It's a big heavy truck, gas mileage will suck:meh:

The newer trucks with the A750F transmissions will get a little better mileage than the 4 speed that you have in the 2000. The best I ever got in my 2000 was high 15s, low 16s on the highway, flat terrain, and I had bigger tires and DT headers and exhaust. Around town, maybe 13-15 depending on how drove.

Is what it is.

"Bad mileage" compared to what?

Prius, Leaf , VW TDI do get better mileage. Nothing with "good mileage" gives you the comfort and protection of an LC.

I just dropped :princess: off at the van pool that takes her to work. It's 17F outside with a wind chill of 6F. Ice and black ice all over the road..and a foot of watery snow predicted in the next two days.:censor: Try that in your gas-saver and let us know which orthopedic ward you'll check into. :whoops:

Your mileage is more or less identical to my '01. ;)

I get 13-14 around town, 15-16 on the highway with cruise control.

Welcome.

13 in town, 16/17 when only driving freeway

What's in the LX now??

It's good stuff, premixed, and recommended by Toyota.

What do you mean when you write "they cost the same"??

Zerex Asian coolant will also work, not enough difference in $$ v. Toyota to me.

'00 is the same size as the '03, first year for the 5-speed trans.

"Newer style" engine and trans will fit, but you're looking at new ecm's to run them, new trans linkage and console, and a bunch work.

Start by finding a wrecked donor vehicle with the drive train you want. Be very patient and ready to spend major bucks.

No.

You're welcome.

Fyi...you can ask more than one question in a thread.

Read the FAQ section on your truck.

Steve

Good info in the 100 series FAQ section about the "clunk".

Start by greasing.

Driveshaft was change to one with a slightly larger OD...no idea if that was done to fix clunking or for some other reason.

Steve

Ok ok first off I apologize for not bundling all of my questions into one thread :( I must have missed that in the faq's and Thank you TrunkMonkey for compiling all of them into one thread :) and Thank you all for your detailed answers :) sorry for the confusion :(
