I've got a new LX470 and have several questions

It's a big heavy truck, gas mileage will suck:meh:

The newer trucks with the A750F transmissions will get a little better mileage than the 4 speed that you have in the 2000. The best I ever got in my 2000 was high 15s, low 16s on the highway, flat terrain, and I had bigger tires and DT headers and exhaust. Around town, maybe 13-15 depending on how drove.

Is what it is.

Sent from my interwebz doo-dad

Thank you ;)

"Bad mileage" compared to what?

Prius, Leaf , VW TDI do get better mileage. Nothing with "good mileage" gives you the comfort and protection of an LC.

I just dropped :princess: off at the van pool that takes her to work. It's 17F outside with a wind chill of 6F. Ice and black ice all over the road..and a foot of watery snow predicted in the next two days.:censor: Try that in your gas-saver and let us know which orthopedic ward you'll check into. :whoops:

Your mileage is more or less identical to my '01. ;)

I get 13-14 around town, 15-16 on the highway with cruise control.

Welcome.

Steve

Hey now around my town those Prius owners drive around like assholes in sports cars all driving at least 90mph so I am sure its not a significant gas mileage killer but they clearly are not getting anymore mph than any common normal non hybrid car lol. On a serious note thanks for the compassion to your gas millage. :)

What's in the LX now??

It's good stuff, premixed, and recommended by Toyota.

What do you mean when you write "they cost the same"??

Zerex Asian coolant will also work, not enough difference in $$ v. Toyota to me.

Steve

its the OEM Coolant for that year and what I mean by cost the same, At my toyota dealership I get 30% off of cost with no tax and both the newer stuff and the older stuff comes out to about the same price. Thanks for your reply.

You're welcome.

I wish I were near your Toy dealer.

Well it's because I have a body shop is why the huge discount on stuff haha thankfully! It's weird tho same parts and things at the Lexus dealer down the street for my cost is still significantly higher than the toy dealership. So I buy everything I can at the toy dealership haha!

Only thing so far I had to buy from Lexus was a master key but still got a small discount on that came out to 160 or something like that.

What is the difference of the 98-02 part for the master window switch and the 03-07 part? Not interchangeable? Just wondering? Just wanna know if i can broaden my search for a master window switch? Thanks In advance?

Love your energy but the ADD has my head spinning :o

The master window switch is not easily interchangeable within years. I forgot the exact details, but my 2002 LC switch could not be replaced by an earlier year (98-01) 100 series LC. If I were you, I would look for the EXACT part number that you're trying to replace.

WHAT IN THE WORLD GAVE YOU THE IDEA I HAVE ADD/ADHD! haha ya sorry about that I get excited when i love something! My original experience was with a 99 LC in 2000 it was my friends and i freaking loved that thing! And I told myself ONE DAY I will snag one up so this is the next best thing i suppose and i missed that whole 98-99 issue with the weaker ifs stuff so thats a plus! haha believe it or not I wanted this thing soo bad I traded in my Acura TSX 2005 for it haha. I can get use to the gas hog for something I will love for much longer than my TSX would have ever lasted! Things were failing on that thing left and right! Never owned a lexus/toy till now i have owned BMW M3's Hondas Acuras Nissans (Cant stand nissan or infiniti from personal experiences I will never own one ever again I gave them more than one chance!) Also have owned various Jeeps! Currently I own the LX470 a 1975 BMW 2002, a 1971 Blazer and a 1986 BMW 325e. I have way too many projects going on haha. anyways sorry about getting off topic! Thank you very much for your reply! Can these switches be repaired? or am I stuck buying a used on on ebay for 450 bucks ot brand new one at dealer for 500? lol

Oh and on another note I just got super lucky my service adviser at Lexus as my replacement ECU and master key programming is going on he told me they had both Vol1 and Vol2 Service manuals for my year LX470 BRAND NEW! He said they accidentally ordered too many so he just gave them to me as a gift of gratitude for choosing there dealership so have my service done at. I thought that was pretty awesome! So I know these will come in handy in the future!
