It's official, after being a long-time 3rd gen 4runner owner, I upgraded to my dream car, a 2021 LC Heritage Edition. Thought I would introduce myself since this forum was so helpful as I was considering options.

I have a few mods I'll be doing but want to keep them tasteful and minimal. Would love anyone's input here. The truck came with a Rhino Pioneer rack and a winch. Here's what I'm planning to do:

1. Bora 1.25" wheel spacers -- have already ordered these and will plan to put on;
2. OEM front lift kit -- I have the spacers from Toyota but just have to get them installed;
3. Light Bar. Currently, I'm thinking of mounting a cool light bar to the Rhino rack. Does anyone have experience doing this, or recommendations on what style light bar I should consider that would pair well with the Rhino rack?
4. AT Tires: The all seasons that came with the car are brand new, so I'll probably use them for a bit before getting some 285/70's on the factory wheel.

That's pretty much it so far. Welcome all your comments and glad to be part of the LC community. I plan to use this thing as my adventure vehicle and look forward to adding many miles (and stories) with it.

Looks primed for where life will take you, off roading. Congrats on the beautiful rig!

Welcome, cousin!

I’ve got a 3 row silver HE. Some of the stuff you’re considering I’ve done to mine (front spacers).

Congrats on such a choice specimen. My advice is get some good tires and drive the heck out of it. Stock these things are awesome. Then you can focus where you want to spend your money (high speed, rock crawling, etc)

Welcome and you couldn't pick a nicer example!

You might consider a slightly more aggressive front spacer with for the taller rear HE. These just came out.
Very cool. Is this a factory part or after market.

Beautiful color, beautiful teuck

I’ve mounted lights all over various vehicles and my 2015 is the first one to get a full size light bar on the roof. I would never do it again. I ignored the sound advice of many on this forum, and surprise surprise they were right again. In any kind of inclement weather you will be reducing your visibility as all the light is reflected right back in your face.

I would strongly encourage either a stealth retrofit of a 20-30in bar in the bottom of the front grill or skip aux lighting all together.

On my 2020 HE I will eventually add a lightbar in the grill but honestly the headlights are great for 99% of all driving conditions

Best of luck and welcome!

You will never regret your acquisition!!!!!!!!!!

Ah...another brother seeing the light. On that topic, for your list of mods consider this. Since you have a 2row, like me, the front spacer is a must, at least, will reduce the rake. The OEM one will not level front and back and some guys here prefer a bit more lift with the Westcott pre-collar or the new slightly thicker spacer a member here developed (see the other thread above). I have the OEM because I do not want to mess up with the factory angles, but once in a while I get tempted to jump to one of the other solutions. You need nothing in the back. Use the light bar money to upgrade tires immediately. The headlights are ridiculously bright on these things and more than enough for 99% of needs. Tires, on the other hand, are what transform this baby into a beast. I am not a fan of wheel spacers. Congrats and welcome. :cool:

Thanks for this.

Currently, the wind noise with the Pioneer rack is pretty bad, even at 65 mph. I was thinking of buying their large wind fairing, and I like the "completed" look of closing out the roof rack in the front.

Would you recommend this? Another wind fairing?

Not factory but if you look around, E&E makes some of the highest quality gear outside of OEM. Owned by a great enthusiast here - @turbo8

The stock ~9mm spacer lifts about .75". The 13mm spacer will put you just about perfect for an HE at about 1.1". A nice OEM+ style mod. It also has the benefit of increasing suspension droop travel increasing off-road articulation.

Do you have pictures (or could you post some) of your truck with factory spacers?

Maybe its my personal view, but I find lights overhead reflect off the hood. I installed a Baja curved ONx6 dual control PN 52-3003DC into the grill with not too much difficulty over a weekend. I was able to cut the grill in place and mount from above using factory bolt holes, after a slight trimming of the ducting to the oil cooler piece.

Man this is exactly what I’m looking for - where did you end up putting the switch inside if you don’t mind me asking?

Ask and you shall receive. Here is a before and after.

As you can see it is not a dramatic increase, hence why I sometimes consider the other options discussed here. Some say the non-OEMs are fine, some say they mess up with the angles. I am a fan of OEM and wanted to keep a bit of take, but a member here installed the Westcott kit and still kept a tiny rake - half an inch I think. For now, I plan to keep like this.

Mine isn't a HE but I mounted a 30" rigid combination bar in the grille just like this and I'm super happy with it.

Would recommend.

Yeah, I see the difference but it's not a whole lot. I also prefer OEM though, so I may just go with the OEM spacers for now and see how they work.

How did you get them installed? I wonder how much the dealership would charge?
