Scott- Naa the silver one is still more fun with the auto. Maybe with some seat extensions the white one would be fun for you to drive

Hopefully I have enough time this weekend to mount up the air tank for OBA and start on building the flatbelly for the truck.
Seeing as how my truck has all the A/c equipment stripped from it, Would you figure it would be better to go with an electric compressor, or hunt down an engine driven one? I was thinking of trying to find a york so I would not have to mess with an oiler. but not sure about trying to mount the thing. looks big in pictures.

I trashed my extra compressor a few months ago when I moved here. Wish I still had it for you.

Mount the air tank (used fire extinguisher, cleaned out the inside of it before I put it in service) inside the toolbox and plumed up the air lines to it. The tank is mounted on the bevel part of the tool box toward the top so not much storage area was lost. The crates sits in the bottom but does not touch the tank.
Threaded the discharge assembly for air lines
Added a quick connection through the tool box protected by the side rails . When not in use the hose goes in the tool box. I used the factory A/C switch on the dash to turn on /off the compressor. As a benefit of using the A/C switch the engine idles up automatically

may want to paint it a diff color ya wouldn`t want somebody in the heat of a fire to try to grab it by mistake

Not sure on the tank size but it should hold 3 gallons with constant air supply only a switch away.
As ya'll know I have wire issues with the truck from the passenger seat back which is basicllyfuel pump, fuel gages, lights stuff I really need . Well I unplugged the wire harness under the passenger seat and pulled it all from the truck and layed it on the work bench and went to work on it . I unplugged each connector in the wire harness and sanded EACH contact to get the corrosion off the male plug in and the female plug , and rechecked continuity . All checked good this time
. The wire harness has not cuts or breaks in it the whole time the trouble was the connector male/female contact. ALL the lights,fuel tank and gages work on the truck now !
(Paul I have now retired you and Johns "hot wire" fuel pump.)

Yea it might not seam like much to some folks but I had a grin from ear to ear knowing I did not have to butcher up the wiring harness on the truck

Absolutely and the fact that tracing down wiring bugs are never any fun to deal with.

Funny you mention that I have some DOW 111 dieelectric grease .

Time to fix the freeze plug
Since I got the silver truck I had to add water too it and it continued to get worse then last week I blew the head gasket , so it was time for the engine to come out to get the freeze plug replaced, repair the head gasket and put a low mileage transmission in that would shift better than what I was running.

Here is the leaking freeze plug hiding behind the flywheel in the green moss looking stuff.
And the damage it did to the rear main seal housing. The housing just flakes off. Can you find the five bolts that hold it in place ? A little more work than I had planed. Hope the bolt don;t snap off in the block. They are soaking with PB Blast to help loosen them up.

Since I have it out just as well change the timing chain, guides and tensioner and all the seal on the engine while the head and valves get reworked.
