The Mr T was trying to make it idiot proof. You put in low and forget about it..... at least for the average driver. Naturally must of the mud forum guys know what they want when they want it. I too forget hanging round here there are thousand of 80's running around and their owners dont know a thing about their truck, dont know mud exist or would like too ;)

I just read through this thread again... There is so much confusion with this CDL stuff. If no one brought up the pin 7 mod until the appropriate time, there would be less confusion.

LOL, that just makes my second post righter. More righterous? In any case, Puerto Rico is definitely more a part of the USA then Kalifornia. :flipoff2:

The center diff is automatically locked in low range (4x4). The center diff lock "button" give you only 4x4 only in high range. Rather that jumping in and out of 2x4 / 4x4.

It says full time 4wd, but actually, going down the road in high range, it goes to 2x4 mode, otherwise it would eat tires.

No 80 series I know of ever shifts into 2x4 w/o removing a drive shaft.

This is the "magic button" to the left of the steering column. You can choose to lock the rear or front&rear differentials. Something like 7% of the LC80s made from 95-97 had the option.

So its 7%!? I didnt realize it was under 10%. Wow, I feel lucky.
