So I’m looking at a 96 lx450 up in Pennsylvania, this is the current condition of the frame, seller had repairs a while ago, I know Toyota frames are prone to rust but is this too much? The 2 wheel well pics look great, just around the mounts and brackets that is a bit concerning to a southerner like me…

Been discussed a lot in the past, try a search for the words
"is this rust too bad" or "too much rust" or ----

We need a lot more photos (in focus and properly exposed) to help.

Check these areas: the engine bay, above/around the spare tire area, the rear rocker panels (partially hidden by the running boards) are prone to rust,
the rear wheel wells (front and rear aspects), bottom of quarter panels, bottom of front fenders (close to the doors) inside lower lip of the doors behind the weather stripping, around the inner lip of the hood, around the windshield and rear hatch glass gaskets, under the mounts for the rear wind/dust deflector, around the roof rack supports, axle housings and their brackets, ----

Worst rust I've ever seen was on a 80 Series from PA, interior was super clean but everything underneath and in the engine bay was rusted, the steel of the frame was de-laminating like pages of a book. A few people who knew 80 Series looked at it but everyone passed due to the rust.
FWIW
