Fenders look more like the Bantam than a Willys. Anyone ever see how the army liked Bantam's design better than Willys design but decided that Bantam was to small of a company and gave the contract to Willys using Bantam's design? Bantam got the contract for the 1/4 ton trailer. It doesn't look anywhere close to being a FJ25, gas fill is on the driver's side like a Jeep.

Its a MB (pre-CJ era) with late 30's to early 40's car fenders on it. The tub is classic MB as is the 9 slot grille.

I really don't know anything about military jeeps but I do know the gas cap on the back is not a gas cap but the early military trailer plug. Toyota used the same plug on the early cruisers.

It does look like something that started out as a Jeep but got customized along the way. No disrespect intended, but I believe I'd let that thing stay right there in the weeds and rest in peace.
