I'm thinking about starting a new project and I want the donor vehicle to be a double cab tacoma. Is there such a configuration as a prerunner double cab 4.0v6 manual transmission ?

Any links to years and options ?

well I think you are into a 2005 or newer to get the 4.0L
I would think the other options would be available each year but...

Yep, the 4.0 came out in 05, but I have never seen a v6 double cab manual. Anybody ?

I've seen and driven a few double cab manuals in 2nd gen tacomas. I've only seen them in 4wd with the 5 ft bed. While they are harder to find, it's not impossible. At least here in NoCal.

Also, they were all paired with the 4.0 V6.

I have a 07' Dbbl cab 4X4 and a 6 speed man. Note: the man trans will only come with the 5' bed. If you want a 6' bed, it will have an auto trans.

The new TX edition 'Baja' has the 6speed with the double cab body.

This was true in the earlier generation 2001-2004.

I didn't know there was such a thing as a double cab with a 6' bed, that's great to know. I'm going to ditch the bed anyway so nbd. 4x4 is fine, I was just going to try and save some coin getting a 4x2, plus it is much easier to tear it apart without all the font drivetrain but also nbd, and the 4.0 with the 6 speed is sweet, is is a "sport" model ? Or just an option ?
