Is the 200LC better than 100LC? Is the LX470 better than the LX570?

Just wondering what others think about this.

I have always thought that the 200 Land Cruiser is better and nicer than the 100 LC which I never liked.

However, the LX470 seems so much more premium and prestigous than the LX570

What do others think?

First, I would recommend editing the subject line ;).

I think the LX 470 looks better than the LX 570. I really do. The 570 looks strange. The front end looks like a sports car, and the back end is wide, looks like a girl with a cute face and a huge butt. The taillights are strange.

The 200 looks good and tough. The 100's front end does not look as good at the 470's front end. Ironically, they sold the 470 AS a Land Cruiser in other countries (the Cygnus - see attached).

I think thats the major difference to me.

I will say that I love my 200. My only problem is the EXISTENCE of the 570. If not for it, I would probably have real wood in my truck instead of fake wood, a tasteful dash and panels instead of brushed aluminum, etc. I think they have to NOT include certain things on the 200 to justify the 570.

Just my opinion. My friend had a 1999 100. It had real wood in the interior. Not that I care, but a $70k car outta have it. Ought not to have a plastic interior, or one that is a mix of black, grey, silver, khaki, etc. It doesn't look good.

Nonetheless like it better on the outside than the 570. Lexus - woman's car. LC - man's car.

Pic of my truck next to 570 also attached.

I'd say that the exterior of the LX470 is nicer than the interior of the LX570. However, the interior of the LX570 blows away every other Toyota/Lexus I have seen. Also, considering a new LX570 is $20,000 more than my LX470 was new, I'd say its more premium and prestigious than a LX470.....just not as good looking

I think we need a grammar check on the title of this thread... not sure what the question is....

Having said that, I think that the LC200 is better than the LC100 because:

1. Monster increases in engine outputs, particularly the diesel, which is not available in the USA. LC100 turbo diesel six cylinder outputs 430 Nm of torque, LC200 twin turbo V8 diesel outputs 650 Nm of torque.

2. LC100 IFS used torsion bars, and the struts were suceptible to failure when used for extended periods on bad roads. LC200 IFS uses coil springs.

3. More interior space in all dimensions.

4. More fuel capacity

5. LC200 has KDSS, Crawl Control, and traction control!

6. LC200 has side airbags and seat airbags. LC100 only had a pair of front airbags (for Aussie models, not sure about NA spec)

The only area where LC100 was better than LC200 is price! LC200 comes at a big price premium over the superseeded model!

What sucks is my 70k sport ute, LC, doesn't have a system to raise the rear when towing like the 570 does. That's a bit retarded.

hmmm, well I like the size and style of the LC 100 better than the 200, and the the LC100 over the LX470 mostly because the LX just seemed to have extras tacked onto it (nicely tacked on, but tacked on none-the-less). I like the LC200 better than the LX570 except the interior where it seems Toyota deliberately downgraded the LC interior so people would spring for the Lexus. I am sure the 200 is better technically in every way than the 100 series (it certainly should be considering the price). Plus, the back end of the LX570 looks oddly like an updated version of my Aunt Jean's 1960ish Rambler station wagon.

I completely agree.
