Is that on a LX?

Thanks Val678
The clear corner lights are standard in OZ.

LUCKY!

Nice work. You now have the most definitive answer of whether or not one will work on an LX. :D

OK, you learn something new everyday. Can you take a close up picture of how it fits underneath the lights and also in front of the grill with the hood open? Did they trim any bodywork on the truck?

You mean, a '98-02 LC bar fits a 98-02 LX! We don't know anything more than that. The ARB deluxe winchbar for '03+ LC's changed (besides the fog lights, I imagine the mounts or something else is different). Otherwise, why offer two different bars w/ '03 as the cutoff? We still have no idea if that fits on a '03-06 LX.

We tried bending the trim pieces first but it definately wasnt enough. We did end up trimming the pieces under the lights. The center of the bull bar matched up pretty well. We had to do a few other minor things too. We fought with it for almost two full days.

I love the snorkle!

Steve, have you tried fitting any TJM T3 bumpers to LX's?

Aha, I knew I wasn't crazy. Some might disagree. So it was not a direct bolt on.

And two full days of labor costs almost as much as the bar itself!! So what if it ended up not fitting at all? Would you take a plasma cutter and welder to it?

We didnt charge him 2 days to put it on of course. We actually stayed pretty close to the original quote I believe. We will probably charge more for the next one we do now that we know what we are in for.

If it absolutley would not have fit we could of went back to the stock bumper. The pieces we trimmed really serve no purpose and are not visible with the bumpers on.

2 Days = 16 Business Hours about

Christo was right, I forgot to mention all that cutting, lol!

Hopefully a Kaymar will go on easier and quicker on the LX. They also did a great job and were determined to make it fit right!

But the ARB Sidestep/Rails do not fit, for the ARB Rail + Sidesteps a Chunk has to be cut of the LX, near the fender. So might go with the Slees instead of ARB.

When we dropped the car off I was waiting for call a from MAF to say " It don't fit, want to go with the Sahara." but they took the 2 days and mounted it on.

Great Job Man-a-Fre!

We had to work with that as well. The snorkel runs into your antenna in the body.

+ they kept the Power Antenna!

I keep going back to that beautiful snorkle, where did you put the antenna?

Well, I just mounted a Kaymar on my LX, finished wiring up the lights yesterday. To get the bumper's lines to match up well w/ the body, I used the 8mm black spacers like the instructions said, but had to use all the 3mm spacers on the front bolt only to push the front of the bumper down to make the gap between the side valences and body line about equal. The instructions are only good for so much, as every vehicle is slightly different.

Also, if you've been following the thread on the ARB rear bar install, the '03+LX (not sure about the LC) does NOT have that magical 6-pin connector, but Hoser says his 99LX does, so I think you're in luck there. I just mention this in case someone tries to install a kaymar on a 03 or newer LX. I ended up using the OEM trailer harness connector (i.e., cut it off) and spliced in the bare wires on the kaymar harness (that would normally go to the Oz-trailer socket; left the 6-pin connector on the kaymar harness there as is) along w/ the 2-to-3 tail light converter box (attached to the inside of the kaymar). I soldered everything, used shrink tubing, then split loom. The lights work as they should. The only deviation is when you use the remote to lock the vehicle, the vehicle's turning signals blink as they should, but for the bumper, the brake lights blink instead of the turning signals. Either the multiplex ECU is designed to tell the combo brake/turning lights to blink, and/or the converter box doesn't handle the signal correctly.

I would really like to know how that was possible. Is the LX power antenna a different design or in a different location? I couldn't manage to keep my power antenna and had to replace it with an OEM manual one..
