Is A-Trac standard on all 4wd models?

I'm having a hard time understanding where the A-Trac option comes into play on the Toyota FJ Crusier "builder". Looks like they are saying it is an option on 4wd models but I don't see specific choice to add it when building your rig. Is it an option or is it standard once you pick a 4wd model?

IIRC, it is part of one of the upgrade packages that you choose during the build process....

ATRAC rocks, we use it nearly exclusively on our Trail Team rigs...

All it says under specs on the Toyota site is that A-Trac is "Available (4wd model)". The options descriptions seem vague on A-Trac and once you build it out and check the specs it just lists A-Trac as available on your rig, not standard. Confusing. Wish Toy could build websites like they used to build trucks :D

From what I understand, if you get a 4x4 w/ the rear locker, it will have A-Track.

I know that you have to get the e-locker in order to have the proper software for the A-TRAC. Now remember, all it takes for A-TRAC after you have the e-locker upgrade is the button from what i understand, it is prewired. I have the TRD model so it came with both. There are several threads regarding A-TRAC hack and add ons. However you do it, get A-TRAC it rocks.

Yes, to sum up...if you have the factory rear locker option (regardless of Upgrade 1 or 2) then you can purchase the atrac switch from a dealer and install it in position 3/upper row on the dash console. The Atrac wiring is already in place and the ECU's are programmed IF you have the rear locker. You should be able to shop around at different online dealer parts establishments for a switch. I paid around $45 for mine from TRDsource.com.

And do you know if this "hack" will work on '08 models as well?

Talk to Matt at TRDsource. They're a dealer out of TX, so he'd have first hand knowledge. As far as I've heard, 08's ECU even allows the use of the rear locker and the ATrac together simultaneously. A change that Toyota made after the '07 TRD edition to all FJCs.
