Ok
Today I pulled the old ARB bar I bent the piss out of and installed my new Ironman Bar on My 86 CND spec'ed BJ70
This is the 1st one brought in to North America by Camel 4x4
I started looking into getting one of these added to Eli's stock order back in the beginning of Dec of 2011

The 1st thing was to take the old off but heres the pixs of what was bent
The right side wing was bent up and in and the left side was pushed down and out .

now onto the install .
Take the installation and after looking over , toss that waste of paper out as they are worthless.
My truck already had a old 24V M10000 Warn winch so that was to be moved over but the Ironman bar didn't want it :rolleyes:so I did a little work to make it :hillbilly:
I needed to cut a nice size chunk out on the left side to clear the motor (what I cut off is sitting on top of the motor in the 2nd pix ), about 3/4 inch off the front (sitting on the drum)and just a little to clear the clutch on the right side.
I also had to push the valance in some to clear the rear part of the winch

After getting everything mounted onto the bar I tried to drop a nut picking it up and slid onto the frame horns and installed 8 bolts into the side of the frame rails and dropped the 2 large bolts down thru the top .
Layed on my back under the truck used my legs to push it up on the upper bar to level it and tighten everything up .
Next was putting on all the bolts, brackets and stuff that was in the pkg but didn't show up anywhere in the fish wrapper that was tossed in step 1 .

Since my truck is a 86 its 24v so all the LEDs and the driving lights are 12V so I ordered new driving light bulbs in 24v and some 220ohm 2 watt resistors to put in series for the parking and turn signal LEDs after figuring what my mA draw was with 12v .
I need to pick up some longer lines as I will need to relocate the solenoid box but here's a pix of what it looks like

Time for install was about 4 hours with the mods needed and a run to pick up a few nuts and bolts I thought I had but wont find them till I'm all done

Thanks
Dont know yet , waiting for the 24v bulbs for the driving lights to show up and the resistors for the LEDs

no both are steel , the ARB got bent by getting hit right on the lower outer edge of the right wing . pissed me off as there was just one small scratch when I saw it was bent and it was the 1st time out after installing it a week before

I have never met anyone who installed an expensive brush bar with the intention of going around "bashing" things.:D

Visit Australia and you will

How do I say this where it will comply with the standards of "political correctness"..
.....You guys are just different.:D

the one on the front of mine is a TJM i think, its aluminium. it looks like it means business, but it doesnt lol. i might re-enforce it.

Up here we have these bushes/trees called "alder". In a matter of a couple of years they tend to overgrow the trails. Someplaces if you like to go "wheeling" a bush bar is a must.

Nice Ironman bar Koffer!

They are a single use item, but can save you a lot of money and stop an animal from coming through the windscreen(not sure how often that happens in Ireland, but just in case;) )

You havent been on a good ol camel chase LOL

I have lived in the Southern U.S. my entire life and have yet to see a camel. My brushbar was installed to keep "small" critters out of the grill.:D I doubt camels are even covered by my insurance policy.

If you hit one,say it was a Llama .After all,if you've never seen one,how are you to know what is? ;)

Fortunately my 2H powered Cruiser usually goes slow enough to easily avoid most animals.:) The few that I might hit should be culled from the gene pool anyway.

update

I got my solenoid pack mounted up under the hood with new longer cables . Still waiting for my 24v H3 bulbs for the driving lights and I also got an email from Adam at Ironman in Aus about the the LEDs . I asked about the milliamp draw since the 1st email I got was they were for 12v so I could get a resistor to step down the voltage . He got back to me as he talked to the lighting designer about the LEDs and was told they are rated for 10 to 30v . He also hooked up a set to 24 volts to double check in his office. He said no problem so I'm going to just hook them up direct .
The resistors I ordered and were shipped on Monday one state away have gotten lost in the mail so I don't think I'll be seeing them ever . The tracking # starts at one place ships to another processed thru then back to the 1st then fell off the face of the earth.

I'm just glad it was under $6 and not like the bumper itself:whoops:
