Necessary, or making things worse? I bought their torsion bars and bought the brackets, but the brackets are almost a full inch off. And there is no "first hole" on my 2000, so I will either need to c-clamp them which seems like a lot of unnecessary stress (that steel is tough, I tried) and a PITA. Or I can take everything back off and bend them correctly with heat and a BFH. Also a PITA.

So what is the best option here? And does someone make a set of reinforcement brackets that actually fit?

Can you share some pictures? When I installed my OME ones they were bent a little bit but tightened up perfectly when I added the bolts and tightened them up.

They are necessary…my new driver’s side LCA failed after it was installed and the bracket wasn’t replaced. Luckily, I had a 1 year warranty on the new LCA which covered parts and labor. They also covered the purchase and installation costs for new brackets.

I'll take a couple, but with it attached with only the torsion bar bolts. there is far too much room in between the bracket and the LCA. It just does not fit right. I suppose that I will take everything off and start over after I bend the brackets properly. It should be a basic measurement for a vendor....

I installed the Ironman brackets. Didn't run into any issues. Here is a picture with them installed if that helps at all.

So I "pushed" them close with a jack and c-clamped it. The above is the remaining gap. Does that appear to be acceptable? The holes will be close to the edge, so I don't want to drill until I am certain.

To bookend this thread - I jumped on a Chat with the folks at Ironman who took the time to look at this thread & the pics. They told me that the gap is fine and would tighten up when I tightened up the bolts. Which it did and they fit very well. So TLDR, I should have just followed the instructions and the Ironman folks were immediately helpful. And I'm all good to go thanks to them.
