Thought I would get this started for any needed info pre/post storm. Current track puts it significantly weaker and west than thought yesterday. Still expect severe thunderstorm type weather for a longer timeframe than usual.

If anyone needs anything let me know, but I will be in Florida Saturday for work.

We decided to reschedule aarons heart cath du to the storm. Was going to have to drive down in it Tuesday otherwise.

On call back orders till wed and then waiting for orders for 7 to 14-day deployment to the low country or other areas in SE if needed. This is going to be interesting for sure

Yeah depending on what work decides we may be shipped out to help with the recovery. Before Irma my boss asked me if I wanted to go to Texas, I said just let me know. Biggest hurdle is finding a place to stay, but definitely want to help if I can. Lived thru Hugo and was watching the weather channel the other night and the pictures just brought lots of bad memories. We used the neighbors pool water for a good week to flush toilets, thank goodness for that though. I remember walking out my front door just as day light broke and looked to the right down the street and saw nothing but pine trees covering the road, looked to the left and nothing but pine trees. I was 12 and went to work with the neighborhood cutting and rolling pine logs out of the road to open them back up. A few days had passed and my dad and neighbor drove dad's truck with a shell cover to Florida and bought as many generators as they could fit and brought them back to the neighbors that had bought one. The neighbor had these 2 mean ass dogs that they put in the back of the truck when they got home so if someone tried to steal them would get their ass chewed up. After that hurricane Dad decided he would live in the mountains when he retired, and now they are in brevard lol!

I just got two new blades for my chainsaw and my other sharpened so if there is any way I can help anyone let me know!

Staging off i10 somewhere west of the storm tomorrow. Headed down in a brand new 4x4 Ram. Would like the cruiser but gas will be an issue and the Hemi kills it in fuel range (AC seats are nice too). Didnt have my radios last year during Matthew but got the mag antenna mounted now, so at least I have a chance for coms.

Upstate forecast continues to improve. Good for us, but FL is going to take it on the chin.

@CruisinTiger Chuck, I didn't know you were here for Hugo, where did you live?

While Irma continues West, and is currently nailing FL I believe the focus for SC should shift to Jose who is on a direct path to the eastern shoreline. With a real threat to FL again....this is getting ridiculous

I was really not surprised they closed school today. Lol. I guess school busses cant take 40 mph winds.
Our localbanks are closing at 1pm.

About to drive in to Tallahassee. Waiting on those winds to pass.

Passing winds always makes me feel better!!

I am heading to Hartwell tomorrow, driving down 85, hope is not too bad. Miami is toast, no power.

We are putting our Engines Stihl to some heavy use. Will be glad when this shift is over.
But it could have been worse and prayers for those that it is!

Lost power near Donaldson around 6:30. So far everything else is holding up fine. Stay safe out there all of you who might be in this storm.

Should be fine......My dads condo in Coral Gables never lost power but he said some of the tenants are now bitching because the cable/internet is out.....geeez, perspective! My moms condo in west Kendall has some roof damage she has heard but nothing bad. Fortunately both parents only stay down there in the winter months. Brothers home in Ormond Beach seems unscathed but they are currently stranded in NY as flights back home are in limbo. Drove up there to take their youngest to school. Have lots of friends around FL that experienced much worse including one who lives on the St John River in Jacksonville.

We lived over in Ladson. My parents are glad to be retired and up in the mountains these days, don't want to go thru one again!
