I’ve been working on the same thing with no luck so far.
If it's a really old iPhone with the old style connector, then yes, they make a basic cable for it, but all the newer ones are digital, so you need the hdmi adapter, plus an hdmi or digital input on the head unit. It's been a while since I've messed around with this, but check out these guys:

It should be possible using some adapters..... You would also need a HDMI cable and a RCA cable

I was going this direction with Prestigious Society but to many plugs sticking out of dash. I didn’t bother. PS was very slow to respond to emails a couple months ago. I think Chinese knock offs are putting them out of business.

Airplay hmm so maybe an Apple TV or some kind of airplay rca dongle. I’ve not looked but there must be something out there.
I have the prestigious society mod. Bought it used on ebay for ~$100 but I only figured out how to play dvds not my android screen. I keep my yogabook for movies currently.
Bump any new updates for this.
there is a product overseas for $900 that allows this. I’ll try to look for it. Can help you get one
