Any other iphone, or cell phone users, have any glitches with the bluetooth system or figured out how to fix?

1) If I dial a phone number from my iPhone and place a call, then i will never hear the other phone ringing over the LX's speaker system. The only thing i hear is when the person on the other line picks up and begins talking.

2) If i use the LX's interface to dial and place the call, then i will hear the other phone ringing. HOWEVER, before i hear the ringing, a loud and annoying tone comes over the LX's speakers, the tone lasts for a few seconds, then i hear the other phone ringing. If i go to make a 2nd call, the tone doesn't sound. I only hear it when i make the first call after having started the truck.

Any insight, thoughts or fixes?

Brian

Both are pretty standard anoyances. I experience both in my '05. BT was still pretty new at the point in time when the original system was developed. I saw a web page somewhere that listed all makes/models that have BT by year. In 2005 there were like 20 total models with it now it's pretty universal. BTW, I have had the same problem with BlackBerries and all series of iPhones.

yeah i was going to respond on club lexus but, pretty much have the same experiences as you with my '05. Kind of annoying. To give the truck some credit though, the iPhone wasnt even out yet...so I'm happy mine at least works with it.

Same annoyances with my '05. I use it daily, often multiple times a day - I HATE the blaring tone and haven't found a way to get rid of it. I won't bother bashing b/c it's better than not having bluetooth at all but coming from a software development background it amazes me if this system passed any form of user/usability testing and the fact that it hasn't changed between 2005 and 2007 is also surprising (a software update would go a long way).

thanks for the input. I tried searching the problem, but didn't see much write up about it and thought it might have been an isolated problem. The dealership had no answers or experience with it.

2006 here...
Initially, it was really annoying. I've gotten used to the way the phone connects - as soon as the stereo turns off, I assume the person has answered and I start talking. Not ideal but WAY better than a dorky BT "on-ear" hands free device ;)

What is even more strange, is that there is one business number in my iPhone contact list, and if i call it from the phone, i actually here the other line ringing through the bluetooth. It doesn't happen with any other number, just that one. And it is land line.

I am glad that the Bluetooth does work, and because it is a little quirky, didn't know if there was some setting that could be changed when you access interface (through that series of taps on the navi screen)

Agaisin, thanks for info. Never tried that before. I will see if it is the same setting window as when you tap the display and get into the Menu.

Had same issues & more with my 2010 Sequoia.
