No worries, maybe that's a sign we need to make it more user friendly :-)

Thanks!

Good to have you with us, Andrew! I've been following your build thread. Going to keep the visor off, eh?

Looks like I missed the intro thread, reposting here and removing my initial post:

Hey guys,

Just signed up for membership and wanted to introduce myself to the group. I've been in the Charleston area for about 2 years now and have owned my LX for almost 8 months now. After searching months for the perfect SUV, I stumbled upon iH8mud and the LC100/LX470. Locally I could only find LX470s at the time, so I jumped on a '99 Mica Green LX470 with 250k miles. This was a bit of a risk buying at this mileage, but with the resources on Mud and my average mechanic skills I was confident I could handle this truck. It's also my DD so that helps put a fire under critical repairs/maintenance.

I'm excited to be joining the club and I look forward to meeting everyone and doing some camping/trail riding with the group. I hope I can gain some knowledge from you experienced guys, and I hope that I can help out anyone that might need some help with their truck.

Below is a list of repairs/maintenance I've performed so far. I wanted to include these in case anyone has any questions or needs help performing the job:

Maintenance:
-Timing belt kit
-Valve cover gaskets
-Brake pads, rotors, and wheel bearings

Repair/Replace:
-AHC removed, replaced with stock LC100 springs/TBs and Bilstein 4600s (a nice, smooth ride)
-Replaced worn out steering wheel with RX330 wood grain wheel from local LKQ
-ABS pump replaced (still have old pump, been meaning to rip apart and diagnose initial failure point)
-Radiator, thermostat and all hoses
-Windshield
-New vinyl on the front two seat bottoms
-Alpine headunit, alpine speakers
-Some body work and paint
-Replaced front two door lock actuator motors

Outer Banks Island Hopping:

LX470 in her Natural Habitat:

Fly Fishing in Blacksburg, VA:

Weekend to Asheville:

RX330 Steering Wheel:

Finally got the AHC out (grinder was necessary), and put in some new Bilsteins!:

Wow that is a nice 470, looks like some great trips as well! Welcome to the Club @Eliot, cant wait to meet you!

Make sure you check out the HAMOM latest thread in the sticky section. HAMOM Feb 6th at 9:00 at dbenke's house. If you need something done to your rig post it in the thread.

Also, be sure to check out the calendar on the website. If you have a gmail account you can import the calendar right into your phone. Calendar
And remember, we are going to always attend Charleston Cars and Coffee before our HAMOMs, we are hoping to build the presence of the "Rif Raf" section.

See you soon!

Welcome, @Eliot ! We are pleased to have another 100 series among us - especially someone that isn't afraid to jump in and get dirty! Looking forward to meeting you soon - hopefully the next HAMOM. Post up anything you need done on that thread. Also, if you plan to modify your LX, you should start a build thread.

Hey guys. Recent transplant from Kansas City to NC. Live near Raleigh - - ONSC is our local club.

I know we met several folks at Logan's Run :)

Wife and I lived near Savannah GA for 3.5 years in our 20s, so we have a special appreciate for the Low Country!

We have a 17-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl.

We have family in Pooler GA and went there for Thanksgiving, so I see us getting down your way for family reasons at least once a year :)

I was planning to get a build thread up. Still enjoying the LX at stock right now, but a lift, bigger tires and some bumpers are definitely in my future!

So, i recognize that hundy from your avatar. That's a sweet ride. I usually park pretty close to it in the parking lot at work. I have to admit, I'm jealous of your bumpers and sliders. Been hoping i would catch you climbing in/out of it one of these days.
