'Howdy everyone! I have been a member for a few years and have primarily checked out vehicles for sale and peoples rigs while rarely posting comments. My wife and i have been in the STL area for two years now and after moving from the SF Bay area have very much grown to like the communit and lifestyle.

I own a stock '94 Toyota X-Cab p/u which currently has about 273,000 miles on it while my wife drives a stock '97 4-runner with 160,000 miles. At some point in time i would like to get into the LC game by acquiring a 94-97 model with few, if any, modifications. The wife wants me to make new friends outside of work and I cant imagine a better scenario than combining a new hobby with the new friends, so here we go. Eventually i will figure out how to afix a pic and signature to my posts but for now am satisfied with whatever comes up when i click <enter>.......

Welcome E-Tool.

What part of St Louis are you in? We're kinda spread out around the Metro Area. I'm in Washington.

We have a core group of folks that go wheeling on a somewhat regular basis. It's a great group. Keep an eye out here for our next trip.

Welcome E-tool, my wife Vicky and I (Bill) hope to see you on the trails in spring. She is my copilot on every trip so tell your wife she is more than welcome as well.

Thanks for the welcome wfd175 and Bill! The wife, 2 dogs and I live in St. Charles, MO and I will be sure to bring as many of the gang on future outings. My job requires random trips out and about, one of which begins on Monday, that will keep me out of regular contact so it might take a few days to respond to posts or messages. Hope you all are having a great weekend.

As we discussed on the phone, we make it out a few times per year as a group. I'm not sure when the first spring trip will be. For me at least. Someone else may have something in the works for Jan. or Feb /

In the regular mud classified section would be an outstanding place to list your FJ alloys and tires. Don't forget to add a price, and location. For Sale - Tires & Wheels - IH8MUD Forums

Welcome Steve! I'm guessing we'll get a run together sometime after the holidays if you'd prefer to go with a group. We already have two Steves so you'll feel right at home.

Damn I thought I was going to have to wait until March.

My tail is wagging now that you mention a post holiday run.

Welcome 07 FJ, It's nice to see some new people showing interest in wheelin'. My wife Vicky and I have been wheelin' for 2 years now and are having a blast. We won't be on the trails untill spring but hope to see you then.

There are some mini's going to Flatnasy over New Years for a few days. You are more than welcome to come but most of this group has little regard for body damage.

Otherwise, like wfd175 and Moj said I'm sure we will get together sometime in the spring for a trail run somewhere.

By the way, you have to meet xfactor. He is now famous after his 1.5 second shot in the Toyota FJ trail team video. :D

I look forward to a trail run with you guys.

Bob -
Glad you found the section. You're more than welcome to join us for the next outing. Keep an eye on the section...we'll have something coming up before long.

Thanks. I will keep a look out here. Are there many near stock rigs in the group that would keep to the easier trails. Or are most of you running hard core rigs. Just wondering.

Thanks for the invite. Been looking forward to meeting people that have the same enthusiasm about LC and toyota trucks that I have.

I had a tacoma a few years back and needed some cash to pay off some debt. It was a great truck. Bought a supted up mustang from Indiana and sold it a month later to the guy that bought my old house in granite city. This was the only way he would biy my house. Luckly I had some cash left over and decided to go the 4x4 route again and did some research. I knew I loved my toyota and found that the LC was to be the best 4x4 out there according to what I was reading and this site. I lurked for a while and then found my preasant LC. I have been as my wife says (addicted) to it ever since.

Thanks.

.

In the past we've had a mix of trucks. We usually work hard to make sure everyone has a good time and avoids damage. Everybody is happy to take the time to make sure you make it through safely and aren't pushed into something you're not comfortable with. A few links from past trips:

Welcome Bob:

As Moj said, the trails that are picked are suited for your lift. There are usually a couple of options when we get to the obstacles. I ran a close to stock height lift for the first few times and made it through. Sliders really made a difference though. More importantly, we have a group of experienced wheelers that realize what us newbees are going through and really help us through the trails.

Welcome, you will be amazed at what these trucks are capeble of.

I'm Dustin, married with 2 wonderful boys! I live in South St. Louis by Carondelet Park. I found Mud trying to research on a FJ40 I was looking at. After lurking and much reading alot on the newer LC's. I started to consider the cost of overhaul and repairs. So then, I was between a 96 & 97 but ran across a 2000 LC for the right price.
