Hi y’all, I live here in St Louis and I’m excited to say I recently bought my first LC, a 2013 200.

Honestly, thought I wanted a Jeep for the longest time. But for the last 7 years I was driving a 2wd 4runner and really loved the Toyota reliability. I brought that back with me from Texas, but it was awful in the snow and slush. Last October, my good buddy shows me his LX470 and I was sold. hoping to build it into a do it all (mall/highway/trail ) crawler but within budget a reasonable budget.

Intro thread...

Thought I'd stick this at the top where everyone could introduce themselves.

I'm Jason. Live about 1 hour west of STL in the sticks and own a modified 1994 80 series. Some of the Toyota 4WD's I've owned over the last 15 years:

1988 PU SR5 extended cab 22RE (favorite of them all)
1998 Taco reg cab 2.7
1991 FJ80
1985 BJ70 3B Diesel (CDN-Spec)
1994 FZJ80

I'm Stuart, West side of STL. 1985 FJ60 bringing back to life. anyone know a mechanic that can double check my carb work, etc.?

Check out Schiele Auto Repair in Crestwood.
Looked them up and noticed they have a separate trans shop including differential work. Need to contact them and see if they'd be interested in locker installs on my '05.

Just to pile on, I'd throw out another +1 for MT Schiele. I chatted with Aaron there about an airbag removal / small lift for my GX470 and he was really helpful. I was also very happy with the work.

Hey there fellow STLers...
I'm Doug. Just got this 82 '40 (full CA smog spaghetti under the hood) this summer and about to hit the road with license plates arriving soon. Lots of projects so happy to make any acquaintances and take recommendations for local clubs/contacts to make.

Hi all. I'm Michael, residing in Kirkwood, Mo. Just purchased my 3rd Fj40, but first in 26 years! So excited and looking forward to tinkering. If you're in the area....stop on by and say hi.
Thanks,
Michael
