Welcome lvanst!

Thanks!

So when is the meet & greet at Sonic in Tempe?
I know Eric and Mike and am looking forward to meeting others... :D

 Sorry dude, didn't mean to skip you on the welcome. I just over-looked ya.

Welcome lvanst!

We should get a Tucson group going again. ;)

Hey whats up guys... My name is Alex and I have been wheeling for about 10 years now. I originally started with a Sami that was a loaner in the late 90's and then inherited a 87 XJ, which I did all the mods myself. Now I convinced myself that Toyotas are better wheelers and more dependable. So here I go starting a new rig, AGAIN!

I recently purchased a 1980 Hilux for 800 bucks thinking it had many problems, but it honestly it doesnt. The seller did not know much about it.

Now Im capable of fixing my own stuff however I have never worked on a Toyota and figured I can get some local help here. But now I need to get this thing trail ready cuz the weather is getting better and its time to wheel.

Here are some pics

Now I know the body lift (6 inch total,3" springs/3" body) is horrible but for right now its OK, I will eventually go with a full 6inch leaf set up.

Hopefully Im accepted here since Im not an FJ....:meh:

Waitaminute! You have a Toyota 4x4 and you wanna wheel it?
You're not gonna fit in here at all. Sorry.

Welcome!
You will find you are correct about the reliability of a Toyota over other brands.
Offroad capability ain't too shabby either.

Newbie w/ a 80

Howdy to all you local Cruiser Folk! I am the proud new owner of a clean, used, 1993 FZJ80. It's a Deep Forest Metallic Green, it's a locked model and I am extremely happy to have made the switch from 1st Gen. 4Runner to FZJ80. With having 2 kids (5 & 6yrs old) - it sure makes it easier to get them into the 80 vs. the 5" lifted 4 Runner. I look forward to meeting everyone. We live in North Phoenix around the CC & Union Hills area!!

Here's a picture of the newest family member:

Welcome :flipoff2: meets are in Tempe at the sonic on Broadway on the third Friday of every month....so last friday was this months. People usually show up around sunset, see you there.

Thanks Clark! We have some things to get cleared up by the end of the month, beginning of next month. We hope to make it over to meet everyone and hit a run or two! I may need to ask for some help about things I am not sure of on the 80 - but that is all in due time!

John
