I have attended my first official meeting. I am so thankful for the members that I had an opportunity to meet. You guys are absolutely awesome, taking the time to answer my many questions and giving me sound advise. I now have a solid direction to head in for my project. If there is anyone in Chandler, I would love to harass you for more advise on how and what to spend money on next. You guys take care!

Hi -

I'm a long time AZ resident, and relatively new Cruiser owner. I recently bought a '68 FJ40, that had been reasonably well refurbished and am wrapping up some little tweaks here and there. It's pretty well stock, except for a 2F engine and a 4plus tire carrier. Have all sorts of idea of what I'd like to do with it in the future, but we'll see how ambitious I end up getting.

Planning to use the Cruiser for hunting, exploration and as a daily driver (though with gas prices these days - ouch).

I've been looking at the post here, lots of great local info. Will send in a membership app this week. Hoping I can make the get together that is coming up to meet some of the other local Cruiser owners, get some advice and see some cool trucks.

Here's a pic before the hardtop went on it -

Cheers!

"reasonably refurnished?" Wow, that is one clean 40! Welcome!

Welcome Jeremy and that is a very nice rig!

Welcome to all of the newcomers!

Jeremy did I see you in the 40 at 56th and University the other morning with the hardtop on?

CLEAN TRUCK man. I almost turned around and chased ya down. Hope to see ya out on Friday.

Welcome Jeremy! Ditto on the nice cruiser comments. That looks like a Vulture Mine resto. Did you get that one from Colt?

Thanks for the compliments - though I can't take credit for most of the work. It is one of Colt's trucks, picked it up back in December. Not being a mechanical genuis and not having a garage to work in I wanted to get something that was more or less ready to run. I am trying to learn how it all fits together, though I'm a bit of a slow learner when it comes to mechanical stuff.

Heck of a lot of fun to drive - first truck I've owned, a lot different experience than my 3000GT.

Decided to get it after I drove to Horseshoe Canyon this past October in my 3000 and barely made it out when it started raining - realized it was time to get something a little more suited to my hobbies.

Hi everyone,
I am new to the online forums and clubs but I have owned several Toyotas, this is my first Landcruiser. how do I join this club and what do I get for my dues ?
I was able to meet Bman and Woody this weekend at Truckin Nationals, very nice guys to talk with.I am going to try and make it to the next meeting.
I have a '91 fj80 I am slowly building it to suit my needs. It has a Mombassa RTT, custom swing out fuel carriers, underhood shower, onbord air, TJM front bumper, dual batteries, the list doesn't end !
I also built a offroad trailer to pull all my crap.

WELCOME!, come to a meeting at sonic (third friday of every month) in Tempe, and pay your $20 to Phil. You get the club tshirt and sticker.

Well, I'm officially relocating to the PHX area. Coming from the St George, UT area now, though I'm originally from the SLC area. I'm working on starting a business (top secret as of now) and I've taken a full-time job in Tempe as a Network Lab Engineer. It's a great opportunity that I'm super excited to have been given. Anyway, I'll be trying to get in some runs and such with the Cruiser, though I am 100% sure I'll be quite busy with all the things I'm trying to work on...

Anyway, hope to see you all around at some point for sure!

Welcome Ferg!

Missed you at CM, but it sounds like you have been busy!:D

Welcome Ferg!!:flipoff2:

Hi everyone. My name's Cayce, from Tucson. I've had several Toyota 4x4's, but it was the '95 cruiser I bought a few weeks ago that has pushed me into these forums. My 80 is locked from the factory, I haven't made any major mods yet, and I'm kind of a newb when it comes to DIY (I'm a violinist...but hey, I did manage to remove my running boards without injuring myself or my ride!). I'd love to get together with anyone who is interested in running around Tucson trails, or who might decide to take pity on my lack of mechanical experience and give me a few pointers.
I'll tender my membership at a meeting sometime?

Welcome Cayce,

How about some pics?

There's plenty of Cruiserheads in the Old Pueblo that will be able to give you solid advice.

Salud!

here are some pics from yesterday at the chorlarloaueauoo gap. my buddy and i went out yesterday. i was really impressed with my landcruiser's capabilities; however, my landcruiser was a little disappointed with mine! next time maybe one of you guys can show me how to do it. :)

Welcome, now your going to need some rock sliders to take the place of the running boards.:D

Hope to see ya on the trail someday

Hi All! Well I just got myself a cruiser, '97 FZJ80, "Collector's Edition". I've got my brother to thank for helping me get this and in good running shape too. I'm an Arizona native and now live in Chandler. I'm itching to head out on some trails and am looking for people to go off roading with. I read a thread that you all meet every 3rd friday at a Sonic in Tempe? I'll do my best to make it to the next meeting, what are the crossroads?
See you there!
Matt
