I've got 74 fj55 with the pertronix elect ignition kit should i use a coil with an internal or external resistor. My old resistor was shot so i got a coil with an internal resistor but i was wondering if i should go back to the old setup with a new resistor. thanks

I recently installed my pertronix ignitor and a flamethrower coil they were also selling. I was removing my ballast resistor which was on top of my stock coil (since it was external) but it cracked and broke...so I installed it without the ballast resistor. Runs fine and have no problems. I installed it on my 09/74 fj40 by the way. Hope it helps!!
