So, do you have a CEL when key to on-position? If not and the engine starts/runs, then your bulb is probably blown or not making good contact etc.

OBD2 should connect with key to 'on' position, at least my readers do.

cheers,
george.

Now the CEL is on when the key is on (not run) and the Scan Gauge connects too. No leaks so far so I will keep my fingers crossed. Getting some H20 and then will go and reinstall the hood. Next item is to weld the resonator back on to the muffler (didn't survive Rubithon) so I can get it smogged by the end of the month.

Thanks all for your help on this. I had not been quite this deep into the engine before and I learned a lot. I am going to put together some details on the injectors to bring it all together in one place. The online parts catalogs certainly confused me and I bought more parts than were needed for a 96.

Cheers,

Rod

Great, sounds like you are back up and running. Back to enjoying the drive vs the engine bay :)

Always thought that was the case, but not so, Mine, and several other 97s do NOT connect with key on, but must start motor. Weird?

Hmm - just went out to our '97 and plugged in BT OBD2 adapter. Key to "on", engine NOT running. Connected fine and read 0 stored faults.
