One thing I didn’t highlight but is necessary is the the horizontal strap over the tire. With both the straps the tire doesn’t budge.
To accomplish that I purchased a d ring and secured it with the hardware I pulled out when removing 3rd row.

Since putting this in, I’ve done about a handful of pretty aggressive off road trips and everything is staying put!

amazing work! Ive always thought about how to do this bc i did not want to buy a bumper... is there a price youd charge to put it all together again and send out a kit for install? I put the cargo mat in from australia to cover everything up but i can drill through to anchor the bolts

Here is my take on the same idea. My relocation was due to having a LRA 40 gallon auxiliary gas tank installed underneath.

I later painted it with bedliner and had a raingler net to hold it in place.

That is a really clean set up! Are there only the two hold down bolts for the aluminum tray and if so, do you get flexing from the weight of the tire with the hold down straps because the bolts are essentially on one side?

The aluminum is 1/8" thick and really stiff. There was some flexing when cranking on the ratchet straps, but when I changed to a raingler net/strap that provided a more balanced distribution of pressure it was not a problem and I used longer bolts in third row seat holes. It doesn't shift or sway. I also made it an inch wider then my current tires in case I want to go to something bigger in the future. Also it allows for it to roll on/roll off and makes it easier for the dealer to do a 5 tire rotation.

Very nice! I love seeing the stuff that people come up with! That is a very clever way to store your spare and gear! Nicely done!

Very nice. How long until it stopped stinking up the cabin?
