Just changed interior lights to LED which went okay until I fitted the rear unit in the boot/trunk. Now no interior or door lights at all; completely dead. Have checked both fuses (Dome 2 7.5a vanity & Dome1 timer) all seem okay. Checked ECU for error codes; none found. BIT Stuck any ideas............?????? Relay damaged if so any idea which one ?

If you remove the last one you plugged in, does it work again or is it still off?

I definitely blew that fuse when I was messing with the rear light. It takes out the door lights as well. From memory it was a 5amp fuse, so i'd check DOM1 - Illuminated entry system.

Interesting thanks.... I may need to recheck that fuse with a meter. Appreciated.

No afraid not however I see that I'm not the only one to have maybe blown a fuse ?????. I'm thinking that maybe a through examination of the two fuses is needed. I may have missed the obvious.

Okay checked all fuses and replaced with new; rerun ecu faults....nothing no interior lights. Stuffed and absolutely flummoxed on this one.

To make sure I'm not muddying up the waters for anyone's troubleshooting. When i blew the fuse that also took out my door puddle lights, I was changing out the rear trunk light that is next to the rear hatch, not the one in the ceiling. I'm not sure if the Landcruiser has this light. I have an LX.

Probably not the OPS problem.

But pretty sure LCs don't have the rear side light next to the power fold controls.

Curiously, that light is driven by the rear power hatch electronics (at least in my '09). I've shorted that light which took it out completely. It wasn't until I recently replaced the power hatch actuator that the light came back to life.

Unlikely to be the issue but you might disconnect the battery for a half hour and then reconnect it. If the circuit was overloaded maybe the ECU that controls the light dimming function shut down and needs to be "rebooted". Again it feels unlikely but aside from the ~30 minutes it's a free test.

That said I would definitely swap fuses around. Those fuses might look ok but actually be broken... I've had that happen where I couldn't readily see the break.

If you need wiring diagrams or access to the FSM please PM me and I can assist.

Interestingly I am doing the interior led light upgrade today, I replaced two front door lights (which are at the bottom of the door) and everything is fine.
When I replaced the rear passenger door access light, everything went out.
I tried unplugging the light i just put in, switched polarity, removed it all together and tried starting the car etc, nothing helped.

I noticed my runningboard lights are also off. Not sure if they are on the same "illuminated entry system" lights.

Mine is 2011 lx 570 and manual says the fuse for this circuit is :
engine fuse box, fuse 54, 5A. "Illuminated entry system, power third row switch, power backdoor switch, clock"
But my clock seems to be working fine.

I will check my fuse tomorrow, try replacing it and let you know if anything helped.

There needs to be a PSA to disconnect the battery when upgrading lights. Some of the fixtures are far too easy to short accidentally.

Or just turn off the interior lights with that little button in the ceiling.

I've had a brand new regular 60W edison bulb pop on me once while screwing it into a socket where the switch was actually on.

Fair point. Not all of them are switchable like that at least in the LX. That side light in particular that has an integral switch and bulb holder is what got me.

Identical issue to me, that's exactly what happened as I had previously replaced all the interior lights and door lights except the rear which has a different bulb type. I had no issues until I came to swap out the rear cargo light. I had double checked fuses and run a scan for errors but no luck. Completely stuck on this one !!

Will certainly do as you suggest latter today. Wiring diagram would be a great help. I could then check for any local ECU control unit which may have failed. I noticed there is a local ECU unit above the front interior cluster which may control the voltage to interior lights ? I might have haggised it as we say over here !

wish I had !!! bit late now but I just couldn't imagine that such a low watt circuit would cause any issues with a simple bulb swap. LEDs take less power after all.

for 2011 lx 570 replacing fuse 54 at engine fuse box did the trick.
54, 5A. "Illuminated entry system, power third row switch, power backdoor switch, clock"

Thank you for that and taking the time to post the relevant picture (I admire your IT skills !). I will try and replace the fuse (s); they look complete but replacing with new will confirm if it's the issue. Only problem I have is finding new fuses to fit as the particular type of mini fuses are on 16 week lead time I gather from a quick on line search....mad world these days.

You should be able to find them all day on Amazon or any autoparts store?
