Does anyone know if a company makes an interface that will allow you to have an external input jack, in this case to be used for an iPod, on a OEM 1999 LandCruiser radio?

Cool. Think I'll get one. Thanks.

That looks like it is exactly what I'll need. Thanks a bunch.

Or you could wait for this. OEM controls are much better than fiddling with the iPod controls while driving. Plus you can get an external display mounted where you could see it.

Related Radio ? - How can I get better AM reception in my LC? My wife's Camry pulls in all kinds of stations while the LC can't get nearby ones without static and lots of engine interferance. Can I get a better AM antenna ?

Yes, I know AM is not cool like an iPod but I must remain connected to the vast right-wing conspiracy at all times. ;)

I thought there was just something wrong with mine. When I bought it, I had to take the antenna motor apsrt to retrieve the broken cable. When I re-installed it with a new mast, the reception wasn't all that great- I lose signals 40-60 miles from town. Without the antenna, the FM reception isn't affected much, but there is no AM reception.

Do you have an antenna in your right rear window?

I have an in/on-glass Antenna on the right rear window but I still have horrible AM reception when I bring down the primary antenna. That alone is weird because I thought that the forward antenna wouldn't even be used for AM.

I wonder if the rear antenna is even connected. I have never looked to see.

I wondered the exact same thing. The FSM says to check the wiring to make sure it is connected, and I'm sure there is a way to test the window antenna, but I don't have a clue how. The wiring is all buried in the trim above the doors. The FSM was incomplete to say the least in regards to removal and re-installation of the antenna motor. Out here in NM, we just need XM or Sirrus.
