interest in knuckle rebuilds? Winter side work while work is slow.

Shim kit from cruiser outfitters is 40 bucks and entire rebuild kit is 185 for my 80. I assume its cheaper to buy a total kit instead of piecing it together right?

unless you are doing a lot of shopping around and finding parts people purchased and didn't use it will usually be cheaper (and much easier) to just buy the entire knuckle rebuild kit and wheel bearings.

and a reminder...the $250 price is only for UC members. It's quick and easy to join so save your self a 100 bucks and join! It's quick, easy, can be done instantly over the internet. The also accept checks by snail mail if i'm not mistaken. I think it's 10 bucks for a year for yourself, someone chime in if prices have changed! Either way if you have a cruiser and don't know when the knuckles were last rebuilt...they need it and joining UC will save you about 90 bucks total!

thanks for all the interest i've recieved!

If i haven't responded back to your PM/emails feel free to hit me back.

Thank all of you for waiting until next week to bring in your rigs. Things have been crazy since the baby came into the world in a little more dramatic fashion than expected.

I got a little further behind at work because of unforseen time off to help the wife out around the house, take care of the 2 older kids and be the taxi.

I realize now that next week is thanksgiving week so if you guys want to wait until the week after thanksgiving that will be fine with me since i won't be at work thur or fri.

i've had someone ask about payments

I take

cash
check (with proper id)
and any card except amex

and as for brake jobs i can do brake jobs while the rig is in here for an additional fee but the lathe for turning rotors here is no longer working or the 84 yr old man running it has lost most of his eye sight as he ruined a set of rotors for a fellow co worker.

So any rotors that are grooved/warped will either need to be replaced or i will remove them for you to turn whereever you see fit. The price of rotors for my 76 axle were 38 each, i figured the extra 10 bucks for new was a no brainer.

Just bought the Marlin Crawler Front Axle rebuild kit with bearings, and as soon as its delivered the 80 is all yours!

Cheers

Kevin

sweet, the marlin kit for my new axle arrived this past week. always a great product. I have not yet gotten mine out of the box as i figured out that the axle was too heavy for me to get in the back of the 40 by myself without dropping it or scraching the heck out of the bed of my rig.

I've ordered most of my knuckle rebuild kits from George at Valley Hybrids (mud member here orangefj45 or something like that)

He's quick to ship and a cruiser head. Keeps most of the parts on the shelf.

got kevin's knuckle rebuild done

also got my knuckle rebuilt...just need time to swap axles now and install power brake componets!!

anyone else?
