I've got a doozy of an electrical issue with my '07 lx. It all started when I started it up on the day we were leaving Washington state to move to Missouri. It was an exceptionally rainy day and I have an aftermarket windshield that has been known to leak, but had never caused any issues. Well, this time, I lost all the lights on my dash, all the trip info that usually shows up on the nav screen, and my climate control buttons became non-responsive. We decided we'd keep going anyway and eventually most of the lights came back on, with the exception of the dash lights that tell me which gear I'm in, the trip info, and the climate control. Fast forward several months we have a new house with a shop so we decided to take it apart to see if we could find the root of the problem. Well, we got as far as taking out the radio and nav screen, and decided it was a big job and put it all back together. Next time I started it up, the climate controls worked but I no longer had any activity in any of the gauges in the cluster. So I've taken it back apart because driving around without speedometer, fuel level, etc. isn't ideal. I found that the screw just wasn't in tight on the cluster and when I made sure it was tight, it mostly worked, with the exception of the PRND2L lights. But now the climate control doesn't work again. I'm kind of at a loss as to where to go from here. I either have an instrument cluster or climate control, not both. And no trip info either, which while not important, may be a clue to the problem. I have determined that when the instrument cluster is plugged in properly, the a/c controls no longer get power, which is what I suspected and confirmed by checking for voltage at the a/c controller. Does anybody have any idea what might be going on? I'm suspecting a problem in the cluster itself but I don't know how to go about verifying it and don't really want to spend $1000 on a new one and find out its not the problem after all.

I don’t mean to be insulting by asking this, but I assume that you’ve already checked that no fuses are blown, and all connectors are fully inserted?

Yes, I checked all the relevant fuses and they are all good and I've checked and rechecked the connections at the connectors and checked for corrosion both at the a/c controller and combination meter and wherever I could get at the wires without taking the whole dash apart.

i would pull each electrical connector out of the back of the instrument cluster, blow with compressed air, spray with electrical parts cleaner, and re-insert.
Failing that, head down to the kick panels on the driver and passenger side, do the same to each electrical connector down there.

I will give that a try. Thanks for the suggestion.

you have something against fixing your windshield?
In the PNW even?
