Please help,

I have 2 FJ60's wagons a 1983 2F with great body but a knock in the engine and 1985 3F with a rusted body but with a smooth engine. Both are petrol.
Question: Can i swap the engines over? If so are there any issues to be aware of
I am reasonable mechanically minded so i should be able to do it myself.
Your advice is keenly sought.

A friend of mine is toying with the idea of putting the 3F head on the 2F block. This would make a stroked 3FE. But from what I've learned, everything should bolt in with the exception of the electronics from the 3F.

Is the 3F the same as a 3FE. Here in the states the 3FE wasn't available until the FJ62 around 1988 I think.

Thanks for the quick reply
I assume they are different in that one has electronic stuff?
I have seen many references to a 3FE. Im not sure, i only know mine
says 3F

Penguin ,we never got the 3FE in oz until the 80 series in 90. Americans got it about 87

Yes ,your conversion is straight forward. The 3F is a 1/4 inch lower:D

Hi Rosco, Thanks mate.
When you say lower? lower to the ground?
Dumb question?
