Sorry, I'm sure this has already be answered but my IH8MUD searching and general Google-Fu is coming up short.

What's the torque spec when attaching the inner tie rod to the steering rack?

Thanks

Perfect! Much appreciated.

Out of curiosity, why would the torque spec be different using SSTs than with regular tools? What's different about the Toyota inner tie rod tool?

I'm not sure, but if we had the tool on hand and compared it to a generic version it may be obvious.

I’m not sure how you could remove and replace inner tie rods without an inner tie rod tool, but maybe Toyota’s version is extra special.

Because Toyota's SST has an additional fulcrum which would change the torque input needed to obtain the same output

“Any adapter or offset that changes the distance between the centerline of the fastener and the centerline of the torque wrench drive will require an adjustment to the setting torque of the wrench. If no adjustment is made the fastener will not have the correct torque applied to it. Note: a straight extension between the adapter and the torque wrench does not affect the torque setting.” Reference terex industries

Do a good job staking the ITR with a new locking washer- there is a tendency accelerate wear for the ITR where it loosens and stretches internal threads of the rack end and can spin off or pull out. This is compounded by larger heavier tires and hammering of rough terrain like baby head rocks-
