87’ has been and still running great for month now. Was poking around after noticing a vacuum cap had come off and was wonder what these lead to (see photo) they’ve never been hooked up while I’ve been the owner. Truck never over heats, temp goes up then drops to about 1/4 up.

They're both temperature sensors for vacuum lines. One controlled when the EGR system would become active when the engine was cold, and the other did the same for the choke opener system. When the coolant reaches a certain temp, the internal valve opens to let air flow from one pipe to another. You don't need to cap them. They're not doing anything.
