Has anyone ever tried installing some anchor points to accommodate modern child seats?

I did a search and came up empty for 60's.

I'm taking a welding course and wanted to do a Cargo barrier and install of anchor points (if legal) onto my 60.

Here's a pic of the bottom anchor points

There are some up above to and I have some ideas on how to tackle those.

:hhmm:

My $.02 - use anchor points for the seat belts and fab a bar with the isofix loops to fitted to those points. They already are reinforced for impact loads.

This will not be a 'legal' mod where I live, but usung the isofix loops and the seat belts (legal) will keep you out of trouble.

I thought of the same mod, but ended up just using the seat belts which is really safe enough.

For the cargo bay divider, there was a thread recently where a guy fabbed one using again oem anchor points to avoid drilling or welding on the truck, which imho is the best way to do it.

I have a set of US Cargo Control airline track tie downs waiting for installation - each have working load of 1300 lbs and break load of 4000; I plan to attach the seat anchors on these AND use the seatbelt. These are commonly used to tie down toys to truck beds and trailers... Yes, they will require drilling through the body...although I'm more of the stock purist, I don't flinch on safety mods so the holes are worth the safety to me-

I hear you on the safety>stock purity. I do plan on doing something and when I do, I'll post up picture.

Maybe you can do the same for anyone else that may need the help.

Absolutely, agreed on the pics- this forum helps me tremendously and so I put into it as well;; I've been tracking down a gas odor for a while so the anchor project is about #5 in line right now- ill PM you when I get to it

gas odor you say? did you already check the plastic tank behind the side panel in the cargo area on the passenger side?

this, you will have to pull the passengers side rear panel off to access but it is a fuel line separator thing that is attached to the inner body frame.

Thank you for the recommendations gas issue solved! I have a post on mud about the ordeal and will update it soon, to make the solution description short...it was a multi layered issue;;at this point everything in the rear passenger quarter panel is replaced! Now to find another project to lay out a few bills!
