Was sitting in the truck, parked, sun shining on the dash and noticed a few indicator lights I wasn't familiar with(that's a good thing). Curious as to what these lights mean- check out the red vehicle outline, with a puddle behind it? Next up is the yellowish arrow passing through a box. I have some ideas, but interested in hearing what these really are, or best guess!

I don't know about the '99, but the owner's manual in my '04 has all the dash lights identified.

Neil, the arrow through the box is for diesel variant...for air filter monitoring.

Edit: I clearly have no idea what I'm talking abut at 1am. So ignore me. I'm pretty sure that the air blowing through the filter indicator is for the noxious gas removal system that came on some LX's for those occasional Taco Bell runs.

Top left is water/fuel separator is full of water. Bottom one is engine air filter is restricted. Neither apply to US market vehicles. There is no warning light for the in-cabin air filter.

I'm not sure what the top-middle one is but it lights up red which means "crucial/important." I'll guess James Bond Oil Slick release! :grinpimp:

I wondered what the one on the left was - I pegged it as low oil, but water sep makes perfect sense. The other one is spare tire (swing out) not latched and of course clogged air filter, which I repurposed for "compressor on" in my truck.

I documented my 2000 here which will now need update for the water sep.

Ah, tire carrier open indicator! I wouldn't mind making that light work for my Slee carrier.

Edit: just checked, my LX doesn't have the carrier open indicator, nor the air filter, nor the water separator.

I think it would be useful to have a dash indicator for fridge power. (but a switch with an indicator light might be good enough and less "annoying")

I guess it sort of looks like a Dan Foss fridge compressor. :meh:

Interesting idea.

I run my fridge hot all the time - or it's out of the truck so I'm not sure If I could use that idea.

If I had an Aux tank I might use it for low or empty indicator :)

Maybe a low blinker fluid light? Yeah That's it!

What does the LX have as far as available slots, Anything?

'98 LX doesn't have anything extra except Rear Locker. No LX came with diesel. Doesn't even have the front locker indicator. I suspect the LC instrument cluster is shared with the 105 since it shows a front locker.
