I have a 2.5" BDS lift on my 60 for about a year now. The springs have settle some, but the ride quality is still pretty harsh. I'm thinking of removing a leaf or 2 in the rear. Which one(s) should I remove? BTW, the rear has 8 leafs in the pack.

The bottom, shorter leaves. I would only do one at a time and check how it does then. Are your shackles bolts too tight, they can be a little loose and that helps the ride too.

The shackles were torqued to about 60 ft-lbs.

Nope, BDS was $700 cheaper than OME. Besides, I plan on doing a SOA down the road and that'll improve the ride. I'm just looking for ideas to improve what I have for now.

improving ride

Things that are proven to help improve the ride...in no particular order...
1. Lower tire pressure
2. Grease shackles
3. Grease between spring leaves
4. Remove a leaf (start from the bottom, do one at a time).

The above are free. AFAIK, after that it costs money.

Buy an FJ80?

Look, no matter what color you paint a pig it is still a pig!

There are very few things you can do. Maybe none really.

But good luck anyway.

What shocks are you running? If not adjustable Rancho 9000s, you might consider it.

I would try loosening those shackles bolts up. 60 ft lbs is alot of torque on them and really unecessary, mine are fairly loose and the ride is much better now.

I agree with Steve on the shackle bolts. Mine are at about 40 lbs.

The factory manual says 67 ft-lbs, but yeah, I'll try loosening them.

They're BDS shocks. I might try the Rancho's though.
