3500# axle, parking and electric brakes eventually. Fj60 bushings and eyes for the pivot points on the trailing arms. Inspired by the Oz type suspension systems. Used Vitara front springs a d fj40 front shocks, estimated 6+ inches of travel and the springs are definitely too stiff. With 800#s it Barre squished, I'm going to try to find a rear set from the same rig... Lots of finish welding and paint to do. Limit straps too

I do have 4 sets of springs laying around you are welcome to try. I believe they are 4runner rears and the rears of your 80 springs plus others. Should be several other ones in my scrap pile too.

Bad ass!!!

Thanks guys, I traded some Sammy leftovers for the springs at trail tough and may just go by and pick up a set of rears or a set from the front of a two door 4 cylinder. I figured pulling springs off a 3000# rig keeps me in the weight range I want. It turned into more of a project than I wanted, oh well..

Looks good!! I'd stay away from front Suzuki springs, waayyy too stiff for your trailer unless you want to haul a Bazuki. Your on the right track with rears.

Can't wait to see it someday!!

Painted,-now I need to wire brakes and lights, mount the home made limit cables, and rig up a parking brake handle and cable system.
I ended up using chassis saver in the bed, epoxy primer from tamco, PPG house brand primer and Imron 3.5+ in a random tan

color that is a dead match for the 83 fj60 tan color #464 I think.

Very nice Kief, now build a lid and get a RTT ;)

Yup, looking for a free canopy or tonneau to make a fiberglass cap that will sit on a metal frame that will wraparound the rails.. hinge one way. Or build a RTT that is a lid..
