First day off, and I'd like to get out of the house for a while today. Thinking of taking the kids to North Main (just past Jordan River) for a little sno wheeling and sledding. If anyone else is interested, let me know. Won't be a long intense day (hopefully, lol). Probably would meet in Sooke at 11am or so.

Will likely be doing a more planned run or two over the holidays yet too....

Anyhow, if anyone's interested let me know and I'll PM you my cell.

I wish. Head gasket package is on its way for the Cruiser.

And I don’t think my newly acquired 2wd will quite compare to the Cruiser in the snow.

Have fun out there :-)

Stereo install day. Finally got the brackets figured out. Coffee break in front of the fire now!
Have a good time. I’d say call me if you get stuck, but it would be long time to arrive.

I think you know my answer.

Leaving a bit late. If anyone sees this and still wants to play, meet at North Main. Look for a stuck red/silver landcruiser with crying kids.

Enjoy your trip. If you swing by my place you’ll see a crying driver with no steering column in their Landcruiser... one way to make sure no one can drive it away. ;)

Had an incredible time. Just beautiful up there. Went further than anyone had driven (to about km 19), and found nice untouched powder to drive through and sled in. About 18" deep or so.

A bobbed double locked Samurai on 37s came up just as I was leaving. I had driven within about 10' of the top of the sledding hill. He could barely get 5' up the bottom. Apparently aired down to 10psi. Not sure why? Maybe too light? I think in the powder weight of the landcruiser helps. On hard snow that he could have floated on, I'm sure he'd have left me far behind.

Cool Nick! Glad it went well. Next time I gotta get the 60 out the door.

Definitely; would have been good to have ya! Can maybe do this again over the holidays, but at a up island-ish location.

I definitely need to get a truck going again. The kids would absolutely love that!

You have a newer 4runner daily driver? If you have good tires on it, you would have easily made it far enough to have fun in the snow. Lots of vehicles like that up there. This is a pretty well maintained main road without alder etc., so no scratching etc., and fine for nicer vehicles.

Now if you want to go further than anyone has been, an upgraded 4x4 is a better option.... The only reason I really go as far as I can, is to get past everyone else up there and find the nicest snow. Not really necessary though as far as the kids are concerned.

Tell me about the rabbits George... :flipoff2:

So, @GTSSportCoupe , now when you do a planned run, does this mean it'll be Promptu?

Thank you , I'll show myself out.

I had to think a bit before I got that. Brain foggy for some unknown reason...
