Hey everyone,

In the final stages of either importing or buying a 70 series. The state I live in is obviously the worst possible place to own any kind of import, however my dad lives and owns a property in Tennessee and is a resident there. Are there any risks to registering the truck there in his name yet driving it in CA. Thanks

It's been a moment since this post but just incase you didn't already find it. Technically it is not legal to have the car be operated majority of time here and registered in different state. Depending who you talk to, you may get murdered by gov goons, ooooor you wont ever have a problem. Risk is yours! Just don't convince yourself that it is 100% without risk.

I am currently running this risk, haven't had problems, but am looking at ways to make it official cause its annoying.

Its covered in other threads but registering is a mandatory visit to CEE in Santa Ana and a bunch of money (9k ish & 8-12 weeks is what I was quoted), no exceptions.
